Can someone cliff note the concept of losing due to being revealed?

I just played a zerg and we were base trading, then the countdown to me being revealed comes up and I quickly lose.

It's like WC3. If you don't have a home base (a CC, Hatch/Nexus) then your structures get revealed. If you lose all your structures, you lose. I think it's lame because something can happen like an insane backstab of lings while you have a badass army, and you lose because their DPS is sickness. I'm not 100% sure what happens if you still have a probe able to build a nexus, I think you lose if you have no structures though.

Is there any way to reset a ladder? I want to change races but don't think I'll learn anything getting roflstomped for 200 hundred games until I'm back down to bronze.

bleh. lost in the 4th round to a gm named fingo. did the blink stalker all in on xel'naga, won because he managed to delay my hatch with 3 pylons <.<

Pretty sure that's all he does. I've played him before, and he did something like that. Don't remember exactly what, but it was AI and kinda silly.
