Well you go 6pool and obviously try to stop any units trying to kill your OLs. They can`t really move out with Stalkers/Marines to kill your OLs when there are lings out and possibly 1-2 Zealots.
Vs PP If they go anything >12g they are dead, even 12g can be pretty tricky. Best is if they open 10g.
Vs PT The terran can block warp-ins with placing buildings in those spots.
Most 2vs2 Maps are terrible, in some the bases are pretty far from each other and there are ideal warpinspots. One map got a huge ramp for one player, which sucked pretty bad because I could not walloff vs a 6pool.

brag: won, that's about the only thing i was proud of in that game
beat: macro was awful, but t's macro was even more awful (lol), i had a ling burrowed at his 3rd at shakuras and he didn't do jack about it for a good 10 minutes, and didn't have his cc landed until the 30:00 (!!) mark. it was kinda funny that he keeps making these semi all-ins in the first 10:00 of the game by sending ~6-10 scvs + MM hoping to finish me off but i droned hard enough to hold them all off

at any rate, you got your wall up in time but it wasnt tight enough. need to make it so only 1 zergling can attack your zealot at a time. Seems it was all downhill after the lings got in, they basically just gg'd you.
Sheth was beating people like this on the regular I remember.
I don't wall vs Zerg most of the time. I get 8 pooled too much and it's just easier to build tight against my Nexus.
Also I was making reference to the fact that I can't do anything about him denying my gas once his drone gets in my base because of that "bug". I don't know if it's really a bug, just sayin. But it's a pain in the ass to deal with.

The only thing I can think of would be to pull a couple probes to help out if you see him attempting a break like that. I'm not sure if you could get there in time, though.
Having to pull 2 probes that early is too much. Especially because as you can see in the replay, he can just take and then subsequently cancel the gas. I'm gonna end up worse off than he if he just took it to begin with unless I concede it completely in which case I do exactly as bad. Actually probably slightly worse over the long run because it forces me to double gas significantly faster.
It's a free gas block. Worst case you spend 35 minerals when you can.
Geysers should behave differently than regular buildings. I mean obv a probe should be able to block a Nexus or gateway or w/e but geysers shouldn't be blockable like that.
also his drone scout got there abnormally early due to close positions.
i think if his drone scout gets there at a normal time you can just take the geyser like every protoss i play does when i drone scout in anticipation of a gas steal, even before this "bug"
Yea, that's what I would have done. It was just psychological, I didn't think about it. I was like, oh, he's waiting to take it, I'll just take it now, but then I realized what he was doing and it distracted me a ton. Oh well.
I think my PvZ close pos winrate is like 30% or something now. I really don't see why Z complain about it.
yea i love gas stealing but most toss i play will never allow it to happen. the second my drone pops in the base they'll insta take that gas ASAP. ive started drone scouting later as a result, since i can just check the remaining gas and dont need to see when it was actually taken to determine timings/possible tech paths.
Zerg's would definitely use to snipe of dropships, warp prisms, and most importantly collosus. The dps from the protoss army wouldn't come close to effectively protecting their collosus. In BW scourge did something like 110 dmg and spawned 2 for 25min/75 gas I think. If they do bring the scourge in with the same stats, then collosus would never be made in the ZvP matchups again. (Which may be a good or bad thing.)
