I was having serious performance issues about a week ago. I ended up reformatting my computer, and now it's been fine, though I haven't played the new patch yet. I think it was my computer anyway though, because it wasn't just SC2 I was having problems with.

My replay folder was kind of ridiculous so I deleted a bunch of replays and removed people from my friends list. I hope that helps.

someone just did a 3 gate/robo expand vs me in zvp into 2 base colo (attacking with only 1 colossus and thermal lance)

...

how is this person like 1k masters*

only thing i can think of is he saw me leave 1 guy on gas after speed and just assumed i would roach/ling all-in him (when, in fact, i took a 6:00 3rd and massed some slings to keep him feeling scurred)

does anyone have any issues with the sound after the patch? it sometimes sounds like it's fading in and out at times, ****ing annoys the hell out of me. am i the only one experiencing this ?

i'm having the same problem as well. i just put on some music so its not as annoying.

it's a feature they added with the patch. there is a fader now for sound effects when alerts play. you can set what % the volume fades to. check your sound options page.

I usually play on a laptop with headphones. When I open starcraft after the patch my laptop stops sending sound to my headphones and switches to the laptop speakers. I had to open the sound options and tell the game to use the headphones.

Yep. Hey, be a sport, please come into my siege line lol. That's pretty much what it amounts to so often for me. I usually break it with huge air production off 3 base after a contain. Air upgrades, esp armor, are useful in that regard. Drop play to hit mineral lines won't usually work due to any sort of decent positioning of turrets/tanks will thrash it, but it is certainly a decent diversion or way to punish an unsecured base.
