vVv Academy thingy. On the surface, it's not a bad idea. However, as it stands right now, it's actually a joke (sorry Karak). They expect you to go to major LAN events on your own dime because that's the major deciding factor in whether or not to accept you. Also, as of right now, vVvSweep is dodging my hard-hitting question about LAN performance lol.

Now, having said that, if I were in Masters, I'd consider applying for this. However, and you'll find a post by in in the thread about this, I'm probably in the minority of people who actually could do it.

Why sorry karak? I'm not in vvv, just friends with titan and time. I think it's poorly structured too and was surprised when I read their guidelines. What they expect is burdensome, esp having to stake membership on a challenge system.

I like how they say: If we pay hundreds of dollars for you to go, we have to get hundreds of dollars back in fan base/ad revenue. Yet at the same time they provide no tangible benefits(none they can "say in a public forum" whatever that means) for paying to go on your own and putting their pictures and sponsors all over you.

Do they even pay to send their players to all the lans?

I understand why they wouldn't wanna talk about specifics with regards to benefits in a public forum. It's pretty standard afaik to not discuss financial stuff like that in public. Think about how little the general public actually knows about what top players are making, and from where they're making it.

Sweep and Sugarbear are both doing the worst PR I've ever seen in my life. Basically, if you're going to use the "My business strategy>yours and you're too dumb to realize" strategy, you probably shouldn't tell people that on a public forum.

Well vVv has the team that actually participates in clan wars (me, titan, murder, hasuu, ngry, ruff), and it also has community members who just enjoy having a group of people to play games with and such. From that we had basically a B team that formed who wanted to play in the lower level clan wars and things, and noxie came up with the name the vVv Academy (he was real mad when complexity came up with the same name 2-3 weeks later).

Anyway, I guess they're restructuring it now. I don't really know a whole lot about it other than that I play some practice games with Rantech, Glon and some of the other people who are on the B team.

On my keyboard ( mechanical ) if you hold down multiple keys at at time it keeps resending the signals or something. At the start of the game you can hotkey your command centre to 1 through 6 and hold them all down and your apm would be something like that.

OK, I think I get it now. You just explained it better than either Sweep or SugarBear. Maybe you should do the PR for it lol. You can't do a worse job than Sweep + SugarBear.

Seems kinda strange to me. If you are really good and attending LANs, ripping through GM, winning online tourneys, etc, you will get picked up by a team. That seems like the kind of player they are going for.

The rest of players run into an odd scenario. You need a full time job to support the travel, yet you can't have a job or you won't be able to practice enough to maintain a high skill level.

It reads to me like an opportunity to pick up some advertising with little risk. I dunno. Not that that is a bad thing. /my2c

Jesus Blizzard, please do something about the map hacking. It's every day now. I know it's easy to say you're just tilted or w/e or you can't be sure.

Bull****, I'm winning these games. It's so obvious. If I send in a scouting probe and you bring your units out to kill it before it's in your line of vision, you're maphacking. If you scout me once at like the 9 min mark and happen to find my exact base, you're maphacking. If you pre-emptively EMP my observer on the edge of your base, you're maphacking. If you don't scout again until you push out and make 14 ****ing blind vikings off dual reactor starport vs my heavy colo army, you're maphacking.

If you then repeatedly look on top of my army over the fog of war, you are ****ing maphacking. Come the **** on.

5 times this season that I can say for sure I was maphacked.

At least I broke that clown's 17 game win streak. And prior to that he was 68-1. No big deal.

4 players 5 games. I've sent all of them to Blizzard with documented notes on why it's obviously maphacking. I went to post 2 in the tl thread, but both of them had already been posted. Didn't check for the other 2.

Honestly, I'm just really proud of how well I handled that game. My splitting was sick and I won even though I got badly out macroed. I thought he was gonna get aggressive on one base, then I thought he was going to get aggressive on 2 base. But I guess he knew I was playing defensively and took advantage of that.

So this guy contains me with like 8 bunkers and 14 siege tanks. Sensor towers, turrets, you name it. When he first started the contain, I didn't have enough stuff, I thought about what unit comp I want. I kept producing, trying to spend. Once I hit like 150 I started to get really worried that I had waited too long. I decided at that point, meh, just try to max out. Cause you know, that makes sense on 2 base.



So I go to a-move... and...



Not only do I win, but I come out like 40 food on top. Pretty big surprise to me.



Then I transition into one of my favorite compositions. HT + carrier. And lol, cause nothing beats that.
