I can't say I agree if they do feel that way, but to be fair, that forum is going to be very hard to moderate well. As someone else said on here before, they have people from all over the world and of all age groups. Way different environment.

a huge part of the problem with TL are that the mods are equally ******ed. They feel like all the subculture and 15-year old behavior is normal cause it's been like that for so long and instead they throw out perm bans for someone accidentally throwing out "******" in a long valid argument.

If you guys want a mind **** try going into their general forums to read their opinions on normal stuff. It's like youtube comments only in forum-form.

They're all just angsty clueless little 15 yr old ****s. And anything that goes on in Korea (esp any ridiculous authoritarian rules) is explained away by "oh well their culture is different." And yeah the general forum is a ****ing nightmare.

One of the most tilting lingering things is that so many still live in the mindset of how Brood War worked where the westerners where never even close to the koreans in skill. Now we have seen that the gap is not that big. And its only at the absolute absolute top theres a little difference. But still people find ways to justify koreans losing.

Either its lag,jetlag,emotional, bad hardware, bad tournament or wtf ever. And yeah people talking well about kespa blows my mind the way they have behaved in the past.

well koreans have the years of expertise from bw on how to train properly, think that's the only difference.

I was just reading the thread on TL about the bonus pool change, which I also mentioned in this thread.

Speculation is that Blizzard lowered the bonus pool accrual rate because when lower level players saw their bonus pool going through the roof they stopped playing.

It doesn't really make sense to me. How does having a lower bonus pool or 0 BP make you play more? How does having a huge BP make you play less?

I liked having a bonus pool because I only needed to have a 33% winrate to breakeven and I knew that if I had a little winstreak going that it would help me to jump ranks very quickly. To me, I'm disappointed that my bonus pool is so low, but either way, my activity on the ladder had nothing to do with my bonus pool. I care more about my ladder rank (all for show!) more than I care about my MMR or what league I'm in.

It just doesn't make sense to me.

Who gives a **** about someone who is so worthless that they stop playing because their ****ing bonus pool is growing "too fast?" That's something that someone who is terrible at the game, never ladders anyways, and has no interest in laddering would say. If you like the game you play it and don't care about a meaningless number, FFS.

And yeah Blizzard, based on your volume of ladder play your bonus pool with either trend towards zero or infinity (or stay constant if your rate of depletion equals the accrual rate). There will always be a set of players who can't spend their bonus pools fast enough. It's called ****ing math.

And I don't care about bonus pool at all, I just can't stand stupidity driving decisions like this.

My rank has meaning to me. I know in the bigger picture it's meaningless, but I like to see how high I can get in my division.

My question was more about how the bonus pool being high or low causes someone to play or not play.

So anyways, I'm not sure if you were calling me a "terrible" player or you were referring to the others who Blizzard is trying to cater to.

I think TL also suffers from terrible formatting. When your post is a generic box on a short page of several posts lost in a thread of dozens of pages you're less likely to attempt to put intelligent thought into it.

I'd prefer they did away with bonus pool altogether and just went with a ladder more like they use to rank chess players. No more inflation!
