I think I've found the solution to my PvT troubles - 3 gate + voidrays
i've switched back to templar-based builds rather than colossi and it worked quite well in a <gold cup i just played in, going robo first for obs and pushing off two base with a ton of storms/feedback, sticking in an immortal or two if they go real heavy marauder/tanks
I'm kind of looking forward to the end of the season just for stat purposes. I'm kind of a stat geek. I hadn't opened up sc2gears in a while, so I figured I'd check out my season stats up to this point.
S2: 115-103, 1460 points (Currently rank #25)
(I had to approximate a bit because of dropped games)
S1: 160-118, 1783 points
Avg APM: 120
Avg game length: 11:11
Best map (>10 games played): Metalopolis - 28-12 (.700)
Worst map (>10 games played): Xel Naga Caverns - 16-20 (.444)
I was at one point like 12 games below .500 in PvZ, so it is surprising that I caught up. I attribute it entirely to using blink.
Still have about 40 bonus pool points to grind out plus whatever I play after that. I wonder if there's enough traffic to make a season 2 stats thread when it's done.
For the lols:
-114 games total (60% win)
-118 sc2gears apm (translated to real time, excluding first 120 seconds)
-~80 apm ingame
-86 games total (60% win)
-106 sc2gears apm (translated to real time, excluding first 120 seconds)
-~70-75 apm ingame
-139 games total (21% win)
-88 sc2gears apm (translated to real time, excluding first 120 seconds)
-~55-60 apm ingame
ah ok, so basically I have to save all of my replays to really have any accurate data?
I only have a handful of replays just because I haven't deleted them yet. I guess it won't really be useful for me.
Maybe I'll save all of my S3 replays and try it out.
Pretty much. I just turned on autosave all reps when bnet came out with that feature (sometime in season one I think) so all I have to do is sort a bit to get this season's info (ie filter out replays prior to march 30th, filter out any games that aren't 1v1 auto matchmaking). I have ~1500 reps saved, taking up 70 megs. Not exactly a memory hog.
ill have to get sc2 gears when i get back, those stats are pretty fun to look at.
There's a lot more too. Next season I'm going to do a much better job keeping track so I can do some more manipulation with the numbers with outside data software. Unfortunately, a few of my replays were lost/dropped games/etc.
As far as PvZ goes, I'd just work on learning some all ins. It's the easiest/most reliable way to win imo. 6 gate, DTs, 2 base colossus. I was losing a ton of games trying to match the zerg macro. Once I started getting way more aggressive, it became more comfortable.
And wraths, ladder only yo, not interesting otherwise.
