How much is this due to actual game balance and how much is due to difficulty though? I mean, Z has a counter to everything just like the other 2 races but is significantly more difficult to actually control.

How much would a change such as being able to autocast injects for example effect the balance?

I personally think that if the grudge match never goes ahead, I should have mod rights for a day and Karak has to take my job of being terrible for the day.

I don't mind new threads (and I hate it when mods lock a thread because they subjectively believe it could be bad), but I DO worry about thread dilution. That is, multiple threads accomplishing the same goal but simply spreading useful posts out. I didn't see a need to spread out race-spcific strategy posts into multiple threads, especially when that thread sort of threw all 3 races together into one pot. There's no difference between asking for help in the toss thread if you are a gold protoss main racing or you are a masters zerg off-racing protoss at a gold level.

And as I said, if many others disagreed and think it would be helpful, I'd have no issues reopening it. I very rarely lock threads and this is one of the circumstances I thought it was appropriate.

I never said that I think it deserves to be open, I just found it suspicious that you locked it after you made a thread that I didn't think should be opened.

There's a minimum rate of new thread creation that needs to be reached IMO before you should start locking otherwise fine threads (and this forum isn't there).

And earns less while he's at it!

actually the minimal area to spread stuff out is precisely why i try to avoid any sort of thread dilution. its important that content be concentrated rather than spread out if you don't have a ton of activity. this is the first content-based thread ive really ever locked, so please give me a break on the implication that threads are locked regularly around here. im a very hands off mod and have been in pretty much every forum i mod with the exception of poker legislation in the week following black friday, which was a beast in and of itself.

but believe it or not, this subforum actually gets quite a bit of traffic. they may not post regularly, but a looooot of people lurk this forum pretty heavily every day. i dont like gripping anything by the balls, but there's no reason why advice given to someone off-racing at a gold level should be any different than advice given to someone main-racing at a gold level. it doesnt really make sense. obviously there are likely some minute differences or not as many mechanical issues, but that's not substantial.

I didn't see the thread you locked and I'm neither saying nor implicating anything about your modding history (which I can't say I know much at all about), just sharing my thoughts. And I don't think for a forum that gets the amount of posts (BTW lurkers - if you enjoy reading this forum, contribute) that this one does that it is at all necessary to try to force content into one of the LC/BBV or race megathreads. Discussions in megathreads are inferior to their individual thread counterpart in general, IMO.
