Brag: Won 6 matches in a row in the IG KOTH.
Beat: Get nothing to show for it because it's a KOTH and I started pretty early.

meh dont play for 2 weeks and i lose 5 games in a row where i have anywhere from 30-70 supply over my opponent when big engagement occurs. really freakin hard to micro big armies after a hiatus.

I don't think "entitled" is the right word there, since I'm pretty sure P players have simply found that it's generally going to be advantageous/+ev to expo before zerg if they can get away with it. "Sad state of the game" seems like an overreaction too, since strategies, builds, etc. evolve all the time.

so i was on crazy tilt as usual tonight and was surprised at how good of a mood i was in when i ended the evening. i went to check my match history to see the "damage" of what i had done to myself tonight with losses (and i took some dumb ones) and was pleasantly surprsied. i guess im starting to get delusional.

of course all the wins are vs high diamond guys. it's amazing how easily i crush them and how badly i fall to masters players. the jump is huge. last night i couldnt win a zvt to save my life. im pretty sure i went like 7-0 in zvts tonight and none were even remotely close.

a lot of terrans tonight (3 games or so) went mass thor blue flame hellion vs me after turtling HARD on 3 bases. i mean impenetrable turtle. so i took the whole map and when they came to attack me, i didnt have much of my own army, so i borrowed theirs. i actually neuraled several entire terran mech armies tonight (minus the random bio mixed in altho i neuraled a couple ghosts and had them snipe random **** - i also tried to build a manner command center but one of my banes killed the scv i had neuraled)

of course none of them ever leave. they stick around forever. so i ahve fun with them. i generally type "/dance" when i ahve a group of thors as it makes them quite mad.

i felt bad, though, and was manner eventually:



this made him really mad and he ranted for a while, so i felt bad and decided to cheer him up!

hopefully will get promoted by the end of the week, up over 800 points and still have ~280 bonus pool to burn through, and i'm now being matched with silver players occasionally. always nice to get some free wins, what the hell this zerg guy was doing 15 hatching against me on shakuras i have no idea, he may as well have just put up a big sign saying "please cannon me"

I 16 hatch against every protoss on every map unless I think they're going to try to block the expansion hatch. I think I've lost to regular cannon rushes only once or twice and pylon blocks at the ramp/choke 2 or 3 times.

I know it's probably not viable at the highest level but when so few people go forge first and very few of those are capable of cannon rushing effectively I think it's certainly worth going hatch first vs protoss.

I think this is too risky. As a protoss, even when I decide to go standard 9 scout, 13 gate, if I scout hatch first I drop a forge immediately and will be able to cannon your hatch in time. Hatchery takes 100 seconds. Forge takes 45 seconds and a cannon takes 40 seconds. I try to time it so my cannons finish after the hatch completes so I can cancel if the hatch is canceled.

2 Cannons start firing 5-10 seconds after your hatch completes. What is your standard response then?

My last 3 PvZ's, I've had people try to Nydus me. It never works I don't get it.

^^I don't do it everytime, but if I see a hatch first after I've dropped a gate, sometimes I'll cancel my gas, drop a forge and chrono a zealot to his base.

Obviously if I ever lose track of the scouting probe then I'm instantly scouting for pylons around my hatchery. Short of a complete block on the ramp, preventing the cannons getting up is relatively straight forward provided you actually scout the initial pylon going up.

2 Gate is way more threatening to a hatch first than a cannon rush, it's just much rarer.

I think the only time I've used nydus in PvZ was when I got pylon blocked at my ramp so was way behind anyway. I use it fairly regularly in ZvZ with limited success.
