I just got promoted into Silver in 4v4. I went mass marines and got my ass handed to me in the beginning because I thought my teammates were backing me up, only to find out it was the other team killing me!

And I was like "we're screwed, we let them macro up too much." and one guy was telling me how terrible I was because all I had was marines. Then one of our teammates leaves because his base gets destroyed, but that was late in the game.

Glad I got promoted, but playing in Bronze was so much fun. First promotion I ever got in this game.

On a fun 0-5 slide, seems I can do nothing right despite macroing fairly well and not doing anything outrageously risky or stupid. It seems like every game against zerg it's a huge uphill battle to take my 3rd and then it takes everything I have just to defend my bases while zerg is free to take his half of the map. I've been 3 gate expoing with sentries and a few cannons and then quickly getting colossus up so long as I don't see a spire (which I haven't) but feel like I'm forced to stay and defend my 3 bases and can't touch zerg unless I want to initiate a base race. Expanding to the far away 4ths of most maps is just extremely difficult unless you can hold all ground movement by sitting at the center of the map (like the new shakuras), so long as the zerg doesn't have mutas up. I'm beginning to think that heavy macro play in this matchup is just very unstable and toss is forced to build up a ball, let it loose on the zerg bases and hope it's enough to win the game. If you choose to respond to this post and don't put a little thought and effort into it I'm going to find out where you live and slap you.

And seriously, can we get some more quality in this forum? This place has like 10 active posters, can you put a few sentences into one of your 4 posts of the week?

akspartan why are all your posts so whiny? bashing peoples quality in a bbv thread? Don't 3gate expo against a hatch first, you'll lose. 3 bases is plenty to get on 200/200 and push with a deathball and win. make sure you sim city properly around your 3rd and defend itw ith cannons to prevent ling runbys and roach pushes. make sure you scout so you know his composition, if its roach heavy or long/bling. heavy macro play isnt unstable at all, the deathball is extremely hard for zerg to deal with as long as you push before brood lords are out

Why are you so hostile? Why can't you assess the amount of truth my claim has rather than insulting me? Being critical is not being whiny. For the little amount of traffic this forum gets I'm asking for a bit more quality. More people will frequent and post in a forum with higher quality posts. This forum really doesn't have much going for it, in my opinion. And I am not "bashing" anyone, that's an absurd use of the word. And I don't speak of the BBV thread specifically, but rather the forum in general.

I am sim citying fine - I'm not losing buildings or economy, I'm just constantly having my army leveled down to a few units, and I can't max out when I'm being hit with wave after wave with no hope of getting more bases. Maybe I'm not being aggressive enough early on and should try out getting an early forge and a delayed core instead so I can cannon rush fast hatches.

Additionally, I suspect it will be difficult to put a quality response together based off a vague summation of "every" pvz you play. Perhaps posting a replay in the appropriate thread along with an overview of how you felt the game went, what you were pleased with, and what mistakes you felt you made could help spark a higher quality discussion from the 10 active posters in this forum.

I'm only posting in this thread because it is seemingly the de-facto community discussion thread for this subforum, and if you read my last post you'll see that I wasn't addressing this thread specifically, but thanks for your intelligent contribution.

if youre losing to early ling/roach pushes all i can say is FF more and dont let yourself lose units. i'm hostile because you're attacking this community for not having quality posts, when in fact if you just act manner'd and try to get some help from people with coaching/posting replays etc. instead of trying to act like noone wants to help you, you can get somewhere. if it wasnt for this subforum i'd still be sitting in bronze league

Generally the folk here are pretty helpful if you actually sound sincere about looking for some advice. Take the time to cool off, review your replays, watch them closely, make your own observations about your+your opponent's play, and then ask some of the more experienced players here for some pointers, you'll get a lot of good information and ideas.

My impression (and probably along with everyone else) is that you aren't looking for anything constructive, you're just venting, which is fine and we all do it, but expect people to troll you when you do.

Also where is my Terran Masters mentor? I want a Terran version of Gospy, stunna, and pwncakery to berate me about my play while I ladder.

I'm rather interested in your explanation of what I'm supposed to do to make posts that already aren't incoherent, brief, or ragey more "sincere" and "cool" so the forum good kids won't respond with worthless tripe. Your line of thinking is flawed to begin with. Intelligent posters should be responding with helpful, well-reasoned advice to any post that seems genuine without being demeaning or hostile to the poster. I know I'll get trolled for saying this but tolling in itself is just such a primitive, low-intelligence behavior.

You've been especially hostile across multiple threads on this forum. I can't speak for others, but the people on this forum have been unbelievably helpful to me. Perhaps if you asked better questions in the right thread rather than just complaining, you'd get more help.

I guess I'll just ask questions:

What are the ideal responses to a fast hatchery? Is it always best to go for an aggressive response to deny their expansion or can you also viably go for a very fast nexus yourself?

Edit: (Re: Karak) I'm only hostile to those I feel are hostile to me (perhaps not always rightfully so), and my version of "hostile" is pretty tame and civil (or so I feel). I am not a mean-spirited person. But a fair point. I'm not happy with all the posts I've made here and have room to improve, although I'll note that some of my posts that could be interpreted as such are tongue-in-cheek and are intended as jokes (e.g. my post accusing you of stealing viewers from my stream). I need to find a different outlet for venting.

Talking down to people isn't a way to make them want to discuss strategy or help you out. You are not entitled to anything here.

Look, when I have trouble with something I either post in the replay thread or go to the protoss thread and post a replay with a question. When I was having trouble with hatch first and started dt expanding I posted there. When I saw a proxy hatch vs my forge fast expand for the first time I posted there. There's plenty of quality discussion and people willing to discuss strategy.

I mean I share just about all my ladder replays with various posters around here. It helps me out a ton.

And if that's not good enough, you can always go to team liquid. The strategy section while often not so good does have some good threads.
