I'll watch the replay to make sure I didn't do anything stupid first. I was pretty tilted, it was probably one of the longest games I've played 1v1. It's entirely possible that I made some glaring mistakes.

As far as what Karak said, I'll just say this. My win pct against platinum terrans is >75% but my win pct against 850+ pt diamond terrans is probably in the 20-30's. Having reasonable micro/good unit composition gets you very far. I don't really feel like debating this anymore, it's pointless. The Terrans that I roll against don't adjust properly and don't fortify their expos well enough.

Which brings me to a different point, DQ is now voted down for me. Being unable to ff that ramp really sucks. Stopping a well timed 3 rax push is hard enough with ff.

I'm like 4-10 in my last two league sessions, it's very discouraging. I wish I was better at this game.

EDIT: I never said T was imbalanced, at any point. Just that it's a bit easier to use and way easier to adjust at the drop of a dime. Vikings own colossi for minimal investment and ghosts hard counter templar in a vacuum. That's my only point. My micro isn't up to par with my ranking I don't think. That's my problem.

As far as VRs and Carriers, no. I don't think so. Carriers might have worked in mass, but I had to deal with drops everywhere, he would have spotted it and countered it. He was very very good about knowing what I was doing and adjusting fast.

Further EDIT: I think I was just beat by someone who was better than I am. Even with a slight econ advantage, he just knew what he was doing. He scouted very well and I made some poor unit choices. I went to zealot heavy and got bottlenecked a few times which really hurt with emp and a lack of ranged units for support. They just kept getting picked off.

Though I will say he did a ridiculously good job of EMPing my sentries/hts. I tried to ff behind him but every time he would get me.

I spent down an excess of like 4k minerals and still lost, I'm so bad lol. I need to really really work on my micro.

Basically 3/4 times I play a Terran I face a 3 rax timing push, and I rely on my sentry play to survive. I went 3 gate robo on DQ and when I went to cast ff to block him, in my head I was like ****, I can't block this what do I do? In retrospect I should have let him come up and ff'ed half his army up my ramp, that would have been brilliant. And, now, I know to do that, so live and learn.

To be fair, he took a third shortly after my fourth, and it's tough to say, I'm guessing he was just significantly better than I am micro wise.

I don't think it's that weird for a Terran player to win being 1 base behind at all.

But, yea I'm over it, I just need to stop tilting so much and learn from my mistakes. I let this get to me too easy.

I discovered the other day that if someone 7 pools you before you have a marine, you can still fight it off without losing more than 2 or 3 SCV and be mining more than him by the time he's lost his first eight zerglings. I think it's better to go for a less usual cheese, like proxy gates/cannon rush/bunker rush with scv.

Been top of my plat divison for over a week (got game 2 weeks ago) with 1050 points, just went on a 14 win streak before losing 1 (6-7 of the 14 wins were against diamonds) and my record currently is something like 85-65.

Does the game know that all I do is some form of MMM and thus won't give it to me??

It seems like the algorithm has an internal rating of how good it thinks you are. It tries to find a group of players that it thinks are as good as you and waits until you've got something like a 50/50 record against them. The trouble is if you improve enough or if you beat some high-internal-ranking players then lose to some low-internal-ranking players - it gets confused. That's how it appears to me so far anyway.

So basically, if you lose to mid diamonds a few games in a row, it'll probably promote you.

The guy who ended my win streak was a low plat who went 3 rax rines and just walked in my base cause I didn't bother blocking and had tried to proxy reaper =/

My last 4+ losing streak was actually against golds/low plats when I first heard of the proxy reaper and tried it and kept losing.

Is it actually common that people are promoted after losing a game?

IDK might just be mad about the loss or whatever but if anyone ever asks me for tips after a game I usually try to give them something not just brush them off.

He might've been saying he never plays ZvT (read: not TvZ), so he doesn't know Z's most +EV move vs x or y.
