I actually started watching Destiny because of the quality of his stream. I had no idea he consistently had 3-4k+ viewers and was so popular. I didn't know how many viewers he got until some of you guys started talking about it.
Sheth is pretty good, but sometimes his subtle arrogance gets to me; however, as I watch him more I'm starting to think it's just his personality and him interacting with his viewers.
I will watch a good quality stream over a known pro any day.
A "professional" is someone who makes their living doing something. With the ad revenue from his stream and the money he makes coaching, Destiny makes around $60,000 a year. This probably puts him in the top 2% of "pro gamers" in terms of annual earnings.
The reason he doesn't travel the world to play tourneys is pretty obvious; he isn't at the same level as the other players you mentioned, and would not be able to compete seriously.
Can you substantiate the 60k a year claim? I'm not saying you are lying or anything but I am genuinely curious if he makes that much. That is definitely not something to sneeze at and if he pulled that off I'd have a lot more respect for him.
At the moment I make about $3.5/month from the ad revenue I receive, then I make ~$1.5/month from lessons. Hopefully once my youtube channel is partnered I can generate some more money from that. There's also the occasional showmatch win/tourney placing, but those don't generate too much.
The amount of good Terran streams is pretty lacking in comparison to other races. It's getting annoying. Trump is probably the only one that streams consistently, and the bonus is he has commentary. Linko is okay -- he likes siege tank play in all matchups which is kinda interesting, and occasionally does some commentary as well. Kawaiirice, Fenix, drewbie are decent to watch, but stream infrequently. The rest are just unimpressive to me.
