Really? I just used 3g/robo as a standard, safe-ish build for all matchups. I'll have to look into that.

3 gate robo is a 1base and/or allin play, you cannot support it on one base. PvZ in particular its allin because zergs almost always have the expo up already so youre playing catchup. PvT terrans 1 base more so you arent allin as often as you would be against a zerg but if he bio expands and you 3 gate robo youre pretty allin or behind IMO.

I figure against Zerg I'm usually going to run into a lot of roaches so I like to get that immortal out. If they go hydras then I'm already there for colossus.

But the way you say it, maybe that's my problem, that I don't expand early and often enough.

I always feel like when I expand that there is a period of time where I'm just sitting vulnerable until I get it up and running or my income kicks back in and that is usually the timing attack where I leave myself completely open and end up losing the expansion.

But like I said, I don't play enough to know this stuff. Everyday I tell myself I'm going to grind out some ladder games, but then I never do.

sc2 gears has me at like 45-65 in 4v4 this season.

just won a 4v4 that took an hour. the good players on our team led the way and killed everything and left me and the other not-so-great gold player to finish them off.

well, an orange terran was being stubborn, and compiled a gigantic tank marine army which he moved around the map killing everything.

i was able to kill a ton of his structures with landed vikings while my teammate held him off with thors and marauders.

eventually i killed the cc's he was making (since his army was on the other side of the map) and used cloaked banshees to force him into gg'ing. yay!

God mech is so insane:
-Ahead 40 FOOD at 15 min mark
-Blue flame drop does zero damage
-4 base vs 2 base
-4 stargate carriers against tanks, thors and blue flame

blinkstalker+collo is very strong vs mech terran, u use extra minerals for cannoning your expos etc.. vs helions/drops

Um I guess you didnt watch the rep I had 4 bases all canoned up quite nicely.
Blink stalker colossi can run around mech but it certainly doesnt break a tank line late game Ive played TONS of blink/coll the problem is even if you stop the third they can still get 200/200 tanks which I cant even touch. Like literally you go from 200/200 to 80 workers and they go from 200/200 to 170. Typically you cant even snipe tanks around the tank mob because they either have banshee or thors or MM. MM tank is by far the strongest IMO although it hasnt gotten completely adopted yet and its only going to get worse when that gets figured out.

Just look at that MC game, he played straight up normal colossi build and didnt even have a chance in the TSL. When did you ever see MC just straight up lose a game without a chance that didnt involve a DT open?

As far as the one you posted in the other thread, you had that won around the 15 min mark you just mismicroed. Your ff hurt you a little bit but you were miles ahead. That game was over.

If you see mm tank, just go colossus phoenix. 1 robo 2 stargates.

Yea I agree I pulled back because I right clicked my army in by accident but still a great example of the late game. Is that the solution though? 2 base timing attack?

Can you please post a rep the next time you find one / play one? I experimented a lot with that build I couldnt make it work either against a terran who turtled well. I dont charge into the natural with coll / phoenix so they get to turtle on 2 base till the tanks are big and my zealots just evaporate in the first engagement. Are you doing a 2 base timing or macro?

I haven't seen a pure mech build since last season. I don't know how popular it is. Carriers are hard to use as an early choice because they are so easily countered by marines. I'd rather start getting them once I know they don't have any marines and have limited barracks numbers. Like towards the end of a game.

It's purely theory crafting, but if I saw that I'd probably go for a really fast third. I'd definitely get a dark shrine and I'd work on getting upgrades asap with just a ton of stuff. How you engage is probably just as important as what you make. I really don't know. But if he goes bio/tank or bio/something else, colossus/phoenix is really good.

If I play any pure mech games any time soon, I'll upload replays.

Yea thats the frustrating part my third timing is beautiful, my upgrades are fine (I go for +weap vs mech with faster charge) I dont make carriers or anything crazy until I see tanks. My PvT is really really good against bio and i was winning like 70% games against my masters prac partner terrans until this mech craze started. Id say like 80% of my games that get to two base have started involving tanks/mech. And now Im losing like 70% of my PvTs and 95% of my macro vs mech games even against players who are much worse than me.

Does anyone here know Destiny or have a good way of getting in touch with him? I think someone said they did. I'd like to talk to him about something.

i said that i possibly could have, given he lives like..20 minutes from me and he went to a high school that i know in omaha. i don't know him personally though.
