I think it's good to keep this attitude in regular league games too - it's not like anything's at stake. I'd only worry about winning-at-all-costs in tournaments.

Just moved up again to gold with a nice ratio Next target is platinum..

Beat: 2-10 in my last 12 ladder games.

Brag: I managed to kill Trump's expo and bust his ramp.
Beat: By the time I realized he did a drop at the back of my base at the same time, I had 10 probes left.

Meh, if you're playing in a tournament and you don't think you can win playing your normal game, don't play your normal game.

Trump is LuckayLuck (on 2+2). It was my first tournament and my cheese is worse then my normal game. I still didn't take the time to watch the replay, but apparently Trump said on his stream that he thought he lost after my first or second push. So I definitely had a shot if I would've expanded when I should have. But I was scared to expand and insta lose to a push.

Also, I just lost 4/5 games today. And I lost to a 6pool on ****ing desert oasis yesterday.

spent the rest of the time playing sick custom games. no idea how people do it but **** me some of those games are great

Tournament games aren't ladder games. The advantage gained from use of meta game is far too big to ignore. If you open every game the same way you are giving a huge advantage to your opponent.

Off the top of my head I have 4 different openings I use vs Terran that all allow for a unique and situationally effective later game if it gets that far.

On the ladder you play someone once, so playing a cookie cutter, streamlined build order makes more sense so you can adjust on the fly more easily.

i was playing super well... running at 20 games over 500, #1 in my plat league by a mile wondering when i'd get to diamond

then today i lost like 8/10 and get raped by the stupidest **** ever

today ive lost to:

-a 3 rax vs my 3rax from a gold level player? wtf? i fat fingered everything in the beginning and got all my units out slow. fml
-a 6 pool, twice. ????????????i dont think ive lost to a 6 pool in like 50 games until today
-a marine bunker cheese rush. lol wtf? how do i lose to something so incredibly bad?

also lost to a zerg in the sickest way possible yesterday

he let me turtle with like 3 bases which ill do v a zerg all day long... i denied him more than 3 bases with my vikings and had perfect scouting on him. lots of drops and siege tanks on high ground... was really keeping him contained pretty well econ wise, but it was inevitable that he'd get to 200 supply as fast as i did... i knew he was coming with heavy hydra, ultralisk, some speedlings/mutas in an army... set up a billion siege tanks and had like 4-5 thors... all upgraded decnetly

decided to get 5-6 battlecruisers because i could and had them fully upgraded feeling like even if all went wrong i could just lay waste to the zerg army

he brings his army up, we engage, then all of a sudden a bunch of infestors appear out of no where, mind control all of my BCs and the BCs just turn and rape my entire army before i even have time to think about it and react... unreal.

That's some rough **** Karak. I suggest staying up and watching the GSL today.
