Brag: Won 5 1v1 games in row and got achievement
Brag: Won 10 games are protoss, got new potrait
Beat: In bronze, 11-16
Variance: In my last game to get both of those, I accidentally 5 gated off one base and beat my opponent, because he went 1 gateway and 2 stargate with late gas. 6 zealot/8 stalker > 7 zealot/3 VR

The tooltip on the bunker stim says that the units inside will take damage as normal.

I tried it out and the units inside took damage while the bunker was getting hit.

If you have your units grouped into control group 1 and some of your marines go into the bunker, when you hit the Stim hotkey, does that also trigger the stim on the marines inside of the bunker?

They get deselected and can't be retrieved by control groups once they enter bunkers (and medivacs), so technically no.

If you have infantry + bunkers hotkeyed in 1 group and hit stim, I imagine it would stim units in the bunker as well (just like marines+marauders both get stimmed if you have them all in 1 group and hit stim), but I don't know why anyone would ever keep bunkers + units in the same control group.

I'd be surprised if that were the case, since the hotkey for stimming units in a bunker is different then the normal stim hotkey (for me)

Death to all you terran OP players. Stop complaining and just make mass marines FTW at the 6 minute mark.

I wonder when i'll finally be put back in Platinum. I was in Plat for a while then didn't play for 2-3 months and sucked ass for a while and got put in silver. Then i moved up to Gold and since then I beat plat/gold and even some diamond players.

I know the MMR thing averages out your skill level and you have to stay at a certain avg to move up.. I heard some people got stuck to a league for 2-3 months despite winning consistently. I really want to make Plat or Diamond before the ladder wipe.

Having gone from Bronze->Diamond and Plat -> Diamond twice so far from race switches this is my guess for how it works. When you are at the top of the previous division with a lot of points generally you will not move up unless you are beating players of equivalent point values in the higher league 60-70% of the time.

Examples:
-When I was in gold I wasnt promoted until I was regularly beating top 10 platinum or low diamond players.
-Last time I was promoted from #1 Plat to Diamond it didnt take until I was beating high diamond players. But I was promoted directly into "high diamond" with no period in low diamond.
-There was a long period as #1 Plat where I was beating high diamond players at least 50% of the time without promotion.

So basically I think you need to be crushing players at the level you are being promoted to. If you are high gold you need to beat high platinum players to get promoted. There is no high gold into low plat transition. So in theory you are basically always promoted to a level below your playing level / MMR. I suspect the system works differently with lower point values tho this is how it works when you have a lot of games IME however. However, I noticed that as soon as your skill level hit this mark you are actually promoted very quickly.

if thats true that ****ing sucks.
I have a crap load of points in plat, and I'd have no problem getting promoted to bottom of diamond and losing 90% of my points, then slowly working my way up through diamond. I don't want to have to be beating top ten diamond to get promoted. wtf.

To move up you essentially need to be playing .500 ball against players of the level you want to move up into. Points are sort of meaningless... honestly league level can also be meaningless at times. Look at the match history of people you play to get an idea of their MMR and you can figure out what yours is approximately.

I say points are meaningless because of the bonus pool, but if a guy has a .500 record in his league and has a bonus pool of 1500, you can prob just add the 1500 to his base score to figure out what his "real" points are.

If you are winning a lot, the odds are the MMR system starts matching you up with solid plat players, you run well under .500, so it sets you back up with gold players, who you crush, then back up with plat players, repeat. It's AAAA ball!

For example my MMR is essentially 3k diamond on a mere lock. Nearly every player I play is 3k diamond or has an MMR of 3k diamond. I win a lot of games, but if it puts me up against masters level guys, I win under .500, so I don't get moved up yet (although my sample size really isn't that large).

What you are saying totally makes sense.
I just hope that I can get promoted to diamond if I can beat low diamond players.
I'm saying it would suck if I have to beat 2500 Diamond players to get promoted since I have like 2800 points in plat.

The way Blizz explains it (i read this somewhere), you need to be in the top 50% of a league before being promoted into it. Thus you probably need to be winning 50% against the average player in the league higher than you (better than half the league above you) to be promoted.

To give an idea of how little points matter, i'm on a 3v3 AT (lol multi, yea yea yea). We had a 1200 point lead on all other teams in our division and still hadn't gotten promoted. Once promoted to diamond, we were first in our division by 1000 points. We have the 10th most points (in diamond) on the NA server and weren't promoted to Masters. So yeah, points mean basically nothing, they're just there to give you a sense of development and progress.

They also include a margin of error so this ends up being much higher in reality IME particularly with higher game counts (MMR changes slower maybe?).
