Ya it looks like it would be faster than steppes, why are they so ******ed just take out close spawns on the new LT, metal and this and it might be ok.

typhon peaks looks ok. same w/ shattered temple. but holy **** slag pits and backwater gulch. wtf. here is how i imagine blizzard came up w/ backwater gulch:

"hmmmmm how can we make it even harder for zerg to hold 1 base all-ins? i know we'll make the main base big so that you can't spread creep to your ramp, then we'll put the natural really far away from the main ramp so spine crawlers are useless. o and top it off lets put a little gully right in front of the natural so that it creates two narrow hallways that will be easy to FF and impossible to surround anything."

i can't even come up with anything clever to say about slag pits. apparently blizzard really doesn't want you take take a 3rd base.

So recently I've gotten tired of all the stress that I get in the middle of a game so I've been grinding cooperative...its pretty hilarious to lose to very hard 3v3 computers. I'm pretty sure when I off-race I have 0% chance if I'm 3v3ing the very hard.

Once I get bored I'll probably go that route. Practicing random at the moment aka achievement whoring. No idea why, I occasionally get the urge to get achievements(and that leads me back to the single player for like an hour once every 3 weeks or so).

Shattered Temple is awesome. Haven't played any of the others yet. Looking forward to trying out some of the new 2v2 maps as well.

Yea new temple rocks prob best map by far atm. Typhon is quite nice IMO. Slag is bad but not the worst (better than having steppes or blistering in). I played backwater twice and I refuse to play it ever again. Slight improvement over the last map pool IMO.

backwater gulch is going to get removed very quickly imo. its almost impossible to defend the natural let alone a 3rd. in fact all the new maps have VERY attackable natural expansions and no easy 3rd's either.

except for backwater gulch the other 3 maps should be pretty good for zerg since there are just so many wide open areas to flank/surround/counter.

just to throw another jab at backwater gulch, catz and co called it a blistering sands/delta quadrant hybid. blizzard, way to combine 2 terrible maps into one giant failure of a map.

I hate how big the main bases are. Too much room for protoss to cannon rush and do something stupid.

Has anybody run into this problem?

its not just the rotational symmetry. both have a long distance from your 1st hatchery to your main ramp. as well as a natural that is off center and hard to defend. on delta quadrant you have two gold bases w/ rocks to each side of the natural while on back water gulch there are 2 normal bases to each side with rocks blocking the ez path to each of them.

Not really a problem if you are aware of what youre opponent is doing (scout toss on 9 for most builds). Having a lot of space is really good IMO to stop those damn close position tank pushes from doing any damage.
