In balance news, Blizzard has no idea what they're doing.
Friday they post
this community feedback update proposing the following changes, in response to the huge balance patch:
- Buffing the cyclone by making default range 6 instead of having it default to 4 with upgrade to 6
- Add bonus damage vs. light to colossus attack, because hydralisks
- Viper needs nerfing, either with abduct range or decreasing blinding cloud time
Keep in mind that, after a patch designed to make mech stronger and more viable, Blizzard somehow determined that a necessary change was to hurt one of the few units Zerg has that's actually effective against mech.
The weekend passes, people on TL post stuff or something, and
today they come out with this:
- okay we were wrong, colossus is a bad idea, so let's revert hydras back to 6 range, thus undoing one of the whole points of the balance patch ("sure we're making mech awesome, but hydras will be a more viable core zerg unit!")
- we still think nerfing blinding cloud is totally a great idea, because we're idiots
IEM Gyeonggi (in Korea) is on the 14th and 15th and will be our first chance to see whatever changes they decide on in action. Lots of good Koreans are in it - Zest, Soo, Stats, Innovation, Hero, Dark, Byul, Classic, Byun, Maru, Solar, and a few others.
