I was playing with newer guys so I'm sure that helps, but they weren't doing that bad. I can't really just do one thing though, like I can't just make nothing but mutas, expanding is slower in team games (or maybe I'm doing it wrong) so I don't have enough gas to get enough mutas to harass effectively, and I don't want to get caught with 0 units when their whole team attacks so I need to be making units...idk it's just annoying.

The next game after that post I tried making roaches and hydras and swarm hosts. I got doom dropped by a Terran who boosted over literally 4 spores and I got crushed. (we won, but man it was annoying)

(bonus trivia: the guy who did the doom drop was infeza, if you know him from seeing his observing at tournaments)

In my small amount of experience playing 2v2 (playing with goofy and bob and getting crushed by silver leaguers), rushing them is basically the only way to go. There are so many stupid cheeses out there (especially with multiple races involved) that to play defensively enough to hold them all puts you just about as far behind as your opponent.

3v3 is so fun.

Also I never figured out why there wasn't competitive 2v2. I get everything beyond that has absurd variance, but 2v2 seems like it could make for a fun watch. Not as hardcore as 1s tho.

Season 4 ladder maps - in which Blizzard loses all creativity

Next season's maps will be old maps voted on by the community. This is probably going to kill the 1v1 ladder forever, because **** playing on terrible maps again.

this is very true and definitely annoying. i would 2v2 with a friend quite a bit a couple years ago or w.e and if you didnt do the allining, they would do it for you 90% of the time.

we would usually end up hating each other by the end of every night, so we'd do 4v4s to just crush kids. my main strat was fast expand to a gold regardless of its position, he usually did the same. if he was doing something cheesy (dts/oracles) i would usually double expo before rax lol. barely ever lost, but that was ~gold so not too tough of competition

General question - do you guys think it's time to kill the SC2 forum and bring it back to just one thread in video games? It's pretty low traffic here now, I feel kinda stupid posting in different threads when there's barely enough traffic to keep this one going.

In a small way it might help traffic to do so - a thread for SC2 hanging around the Video Games front page might help draw more people in compared to having a subforum. Worth a thought, maybe. This isn't something that's been suggested or is in the works so don't freak out, just something I'm personally thinking about.

personally id vote against combining unless someone higher brought it up. too much clutter/randomness for one of the more widely streamed games. plus its really depressing when diablo thread would fall off the front page entirely

my argument for no would be that essentially this thread is the most popular (lol) but on days of events/when im watching vods i feel safe to come in here, yet completely avoid the tourney thread. with 1 thread, we'd need to be much better about use of spoilers, which is sort of a pita, and also would clog up and possible discussions that are going on with empty posts (possibly pages) of blank space

I think so. Not enough traffic to justify separate threads. In one big thread it wouldn't even be a high traffic one particularly within VG alone.

I had a masters friend that I would 2v2 with. I main protoss. He plays terran.

I would play terran and give him control of my units. I would only make barracks/depots and reactors. Spam marines/rally to him.

We made it to masters

Something hilarious just happened on Twitch - I'm watching this guy who's a plat zerg, I started following his stream a few weeks ago when looking at the bottom of the SC2 index (like, the 1-3 viewers people) for something to watch and he reminded me of a young goofyballer - floating huge banks early in the game, doing typical goofyballer stuff, you know.

Anyway I'm watching him just now with 1-2 other viewers and then he's like "oh ****, winter is hosting me?????"
