These are always pretty interesting to read. Good to hear that he's feeling upbeat about doing tournaments with the best Koreans - nobody except whiny TL fanbois give a **** about saving the NA scene so a bunch of Americans can get paid to play a game they suck at, TB shouldn't either. Hope he does more of these in the future!

yeah i dont really think people can comment on balance without being biased, so while ill readily agree i wouldnt expect most p/z to agree as well

even when mines and hellbats were OP (i dont think mines were, but ok) i didnt much enjoy the game. i def think terran is weak atm tho

i got tired of terran because you can only build like 4 units and there's only like 2 viable strats. Also my mechanics are bad and I am bad. But it was frustrating knowing that I had a friend who just dicked around and did 3-gate blink every game or some **** and was in diamond

Oh man I just played the greatest game ever.

So I unvetoed Alterzim for a moment but discovered that's a bad idea because I'm not good at Starcraft. I get matched up with a plat Terran, he goes mech, gets a bunch of thors/tanks/hellbats and marches out (this is where me being bad comes in - I don't, like, pressure him or whatever, I just chill on my side of the map doing **** all), kills my 4th, I barely get enough swarm hosts out in time to keep him from advancing on my 3rd. He has more bases than me, a scary big army, I'm basically dead.

So, what does he do from here? He basically throws away his entire army - I think intentionally, because you'd require the intelligence of a 5 year old to micro (or rather, not micro) the way he did. He basically parked his thors on creep against locust waves and stopped microing them completely.

The reason this could possibly have been intentional: he then starts building, like, 7 ravens at a time. LOL

So anyway, I have a pretty terrible composition to deal with this, I have a billion swarm hosts, no static d, and just a few mutalisks. Luckily, it turns out his worst enemy was not me, but rather himself:



I think 6 ravens died there, sweet trade for a total of 0 roaches. And then, the coup de grace:

Every raven dies, after I bring my mutas down to start killing his peripheral expansions, he ggs.

Remember what I said about how every player that does this strategy is just awful at Starcraft? Yeah.

At the point where he killed my 4th, resources lost was 5931 to 550 in his favor (I basically didn't even try to touch his army, I stood no chance against it). If he just turns around, goes home, it's, like, game over.

This is also why terran is so woefully underpowered. The only viable terran strategy is some variant of 1) MAEK MARINES 2) MICRO 3) ??? 4) GTFO out of Code S. Everyone knows how to micro and maeking marines is not especially complex, so terran comes out of the gate at full strength. Other races have to build different units and stuff in all kinds of complicated orders, so it takes some time for them to develop their potential. But they whine so much that blizz has to make the game balanced in the early phases of the metagame, which means that terrans get blown away once the game is figured out more.

Also, blizzard is absolutely ****ing horrible at designing terran units.

Mech tho!

Mech is not really a viable strategy in TvZ. It's best understood as a 48-minute, 4-base raven/tank all-in.
