everclear is way worse than vlad is

ive prob drank more vlad than any upstanding person should ever have to... so i disagree. everclear blazes a path to your stomach when you drink it straight, but vlad is basically best gag inducer on the market. and its 1/4 potency and only half(ish) the price

I lost to the same Protoss twice today. First game he proxy 2 gates, I had gone pool first cause he didn't gl hf so I was in okay shape but then he never attacked, just made me cancel my natural and then parked 3 zealots on the ramp until I pushed creep out to get a queen + spine over to break out, while taking a nexus at home. He was way ahead (it seems ******ed to say that after a 2gate, but he was) and kept pressuring with zealots while building up triple stargate back home, I never got to drone up,

Second game is awhile later, so I figure maybe he'll forget my screen name from before and cheese again. I go 12 pool to be ******edly safe and take a really late hatch. I don't think to scout for a cannon rush, so I lose the natural hatch to 4 cannons (absurd investment), but remain way behind for the simple reason that he gets 3 fast bases that I can't contest and his pylon ******edly allows him to warp in units at my 3rd (it's Overgrowth). I lose a long, protracted game where he just always has more army than me, walks forward, kills a base, walks back.

The frustrating thing is that in the "macro" portion of the game he played so terribly. Losing colossi for free by letting me run around the back of his army and not protecting them, for example. But no matter how ****ing bad he is, LOL protoss just proxy 2gate and macro out of it because zealots are impossible to kill. What a garbage ****ing race.

Watch all of stardusts games if you wanna see how far tricks and gimmicks can yet you in spite of god awful macro

Went 15 pool, Protoss (who went forge expand) scouts it, tries to cannon natural anyway while I have a probe blocking where he wants to cannon, he puts one down like basically right when my lings show up (has to insta-cancel). I get 4 lings into his main (had 6, cannon killed 2) and harass his mining for a long time, he loses. lol protoss

SC has been fun this season in my short time playing. Trying to get back to diamond. My 70% win record last season on both servers? lol @ that, former masters or diamonds x10 seasons every.single.game. Wtf is this? Just played a gold zerg with 300APM after a terran with 270. 4x quick loss in a row. I have a tendency to try to keep playing until I win in situations like this, now 1:15 AM and ****ing depressed. **** Blizzard.

I dunno what blizzard have done to the MMRs since WoL but this game sucks, its not fun to ladder at all. its just stomps all over the place. If I play an actual plat player I absolutely stomp, if a former diamond x10 or a master I win sometimes but lose way more than I win and usually get stomped.

In WoL 99/100 it was a fair game vs evenly matched opponent, unless you met a player who hadn't played in ages/doing his placement etc but that was so rare.

Just CBA with it at all.

I hate quitting on a losing streak, and usually try to keep playing until I can at least get one good win, which sometimes makes it worse.

Ya, but the protosses I play are bad and literally immediately roll over and die (aka no wall, no void ray, no sentries). I've always felt that roach ling (and to a even greater extent ling hydra) timings are very all or nothing ...you never just do "some" damage. You either do none and you lose, or you more or less immediately win. I don't like playing like that, unless I'm tilted and just want to **** some Protoss players up.

So I guess they're just in essence all ins...

i guess thats true off 2 base especially. also have no idea what that map looks like. figured hydra tech would be too slow for sure, but if you could kill 3rd while recovering at home you might not be dead.

Roach ling doesn't have to be all in, get burrow and go to 4 base behind whilst trying to deny P 4th. Unless you take horrendous engagement and they kill everything for no trade then you obv lose.

So I'm pretty sure I'm legit the WOAT player at this game. Play some ****ing nerd who picks Toss so I type glhf etc, then ask "Proxy cheese?". I even send a scout obviously but it's like "delayed" and I see the forge when my probe gets there. I then rescout and see the pylon etc. I rage and eventually quit.

Get the same nerd and decide I'm going 9 pool and fast ling speed (right?). So I go to send my drone scout out and obviously scout the pylon. Except this time I kill both his cannons which he doesn't cancel and the pylon. I try to do a ling speed timing counter attack but he's walled off. I then scout he's going cyber so I figure he's getting stalkers so I start building roaches and take a 2nd. Should I just instead rushed banelings for the wall or do I just use my economy advantage? Anyways long story short I lose cause I'm the WOAT. I ****ing hate this game honestly. It's just not really fun to play vs bots and people just cheese.

9 pool is very econ light so you probably weren't as ahead as you thought you were. Was this wall off at his natural, or at his main? If it's the former, take a third, drone hard until about 730 (added a minute because he sucks and because of the cannons), take gas, and make units. If it's the latter, skip the roach warren and make nothing but lings, spines, and queens ( helpful vs oracles and voids) and get a spore at your natural if you fear DTs.

You never want to be making both roaches and lings vs a 1 base toss. Either roaches only, or lings and spines.

Another helpful tip is to send in an overlord to check his mining. Remember the gas costs for these:

Warp gate 50 gas
Stalker 50 gas
Sentry 100 gas
Mothership core 100 gas
Twilight council 100 gas
Stargate 150 gas
Oracle 150 gas
Void ray 150 gas
Dark shrine 150 gas

So if you see that 500 gas is gone and nothing but zealots at his wall, it's time to throw down those spores.

Yeah, Protoss is annoying to deal with, I had a similar story to yours above.

In a standard game, if I have any reason to think my Protoss opponent might cheese me (he doesn't gl hf, I see a super early probe, something along those lines) I just 14 pool, 15 hatch. In addition:
- take your 2nd overlord (the one you build on 9) and put him over your natural so you can see pylons that go up while it's building
- if he starts a pylon, and you 14 pooled, pull a couple drones to a.) harass the probe b.) position them behind the mineral line in spots he might want to cannon - you have lings out fast enough with a 14 pool that the only way you can really get into trouble against a cannon rush is if he's able to do one of those really annoying walloffs where you can't get any surface area to kill the pylons/cannons before they finish. Also, start pooling larva (don't build drones, so that you can instantly make 6 lings when pool finishes), with the exception of maybe making 1 overlord if you have enough time left before your pool finishes that the larva will replenish itself anyway - otherwise, what usually happens is that you're at like 15/18, 3 larva, make 3 lings, now you're supply blocked. If you can squeeze out the ovie to be at 15/26 when pool finishes, also with 3 larva, that's much nicer.

Also, when you're Zerg and see yourself using the words "take a 2nd", you probably aren't in good shape. 1 base Zerg for any purpose other than, like, pre-6 minute roach all ins (excluding ZvZ which is a cluster**** of a matchup) is pretty bad - like, you just don't have enough mining + larva to make a decent army.

What league are you in, bronze? If you ever want to practice dealing with cheese or something I'm sure I can do bad imitations of a cannon rush for you to practice against. I know what you mean though, I just started playing some bronze games the other day on my smurf to get the MMR up to ~gold level, and like half the games were cheese. Some guy accused me of maphacking (lol!) when my second overlord flew directly over his proxy 2 raxes. I cancelled my hatch too (seems foolish in hindsight), so needing something to do he built approx a billion bunkers in my main. I made like 4 spines and just slowly killed them all while teching up to lair + speed + banes, he then rages at me and leaves.

Gah, it was the natural too that was walled off and I really really thought after that I should've taken a 3rd too.

I still play on the starter pack lmao so it's custom games. That makes a lot of sense though. I feel like these little things like having my larva pooled when dropping earlier pools is stuff to think on. I probably overdrone a bit too at some points in games too. I dunno I'll keep practicing though.

I have this same experience whenever I try to play these days, the player pool has shrunk massively, Will be interesting to see what happens when the new exp comes out if numbers will increase.

After losing 4 of my last 6 games on EU ladder.

Back on Diamond both servers, finally.

I want to start offracing or even switching to random eventually if I get good enough with offraces. Simply because my interest is waning and I think it will be a new challenge. However, despite unranked supposedly having a separate MMR, I tried a few games and get matched with diamonds or plats and obv my T and P is not that standard. So other than buying a new account, playing with huge lag to Korea or something, or tanking my unranked MMR for ages, what options are there? I need an MMR reset.

He pylon blocked my natural, then sat on one base and teched up to robo. His big attack was to first do a two-immortal drop from warp prism at my third on Overgrowth and warp in zealots - it failed miserably, as I had a bunch of lings/queens ready and sniped the warp prism after the first warp-in. Then he tried a second attack with a few void rays and a couple more immortals and zealots - still, mind you, all on one base.

And the injustice of it all is so great that he had to msg me after the game to whine about how OP Zerg is when his brilliant plan didn't work.

How do people like that make it to diamond? If I played ranked I'd def be in the Wood Division which is 2 levels below bronze and I know not to do that...wtf.
