28/28 in under 4 minutes, too easy. It would have been under 3 but I forgot the name of
Spoiler:
Entombed Valley
Missing maps I can remember that aren't already mentioned
Spoiler:
-Slag Pits
-Typhon Peaks
-Jungle Basin
-Shattered Temple (kinda the same as Lost Temple though)
-Alterzim? (can't remember already lol me)
-Xelnaga something (a 3 player map from early GSL)
-Incineration Zone (AIDS beta map)
-Delta Quadrant
I think naming all the ladder maps ever would be extremely difficult to do in 7 minutes. I took a quick look at the Liquipedia page for maps (HotS only) and there are quite a few missing from the quiz, some of which I wouldn't remember the name of. I can also remember a couple maps I didn't mention because I don't know the name of them.
mass ravens and vikings ftl. maybe i need infestors? i just feel so dirty when like 15 infestors get seeker missiled. would also have helped if my swarm hosts didn't all die multiple times.
I've yet to do super well against this strategy except against bad players but I think key points to think about are...
- early muta harass as long as possible to delay third, two base gas income will not get him very much stuff that's useful anti-air so you should only have to contend with a small number of seekers (run away, don't let them hit) and turrets...maybe lings are good in the early game to stop those from going up when he tries to take his third, since it's that first turret ring they build that makes it really hard to attack into it. But once bases are established lings will be pretty useless. The third is definitely the point where he can start getting the kind of production he wants for his build so I think trying to deny it is really, really important.
- expand a lot (you have no need for army units for like the first 10 minutes of the game, except to deny third), and every single base needs more spores and spines (for autoturrets and hellion runbys) than you think you need. Unless the layout of a base (like, habitation gold base for example) lets you really make it hard for him to put autoturrets down, he'll probably always be able to kill them, but you can at least make him waste a ****ton of energy to do so and you should probably be on a pretty big mineral bank anyway. and make LOTS (LOTS. LOTS.) of static d in your main, because your tech getting autoturreted to death can be game ending.
- you prob want infestors and swarm hosts in mid game to go with the early mutas you built, eventually mutas will die off and become useless, I guess you replace w/ corruptors at that point?
- I didn't think of this until just now but pushing creep forward with spores (w/ occasional spine so they can't just drop a single autoturret to disable your defense) might also be a good idea since ravens can't hurt them except with autoturrets, would help protect your swarm hosts/infestors on creep from getting seekered
Good write up. What a ******er coaster it has been. I still to this day don't see how it was necessary for me to keep over 200 buyins on that site for .5/1 rush pokah.
Did you dispute as well (I think I remembered you posting you had)? I panic-withdrew 4.5k which I obviously never got and disputed that ****. I know a lot of my friends are getting paid soon and am happy for them, but I called earlier this week asking if they had any sort of time line for those with disputed balances and they refused to even give me the slightest estimation of when they will be done due to "It's all completely up to the courts". They did end up saying something along the lines of "In two weeks we could get word from the courts saying it's fine to process disputed claims, or it could be a year from now and still nothing, I can't tell you" (This was a supervisor saying this btw, hopefully but clearly not someone with a clue at GCG). I want to get so ****ing mad but I end up just blaming myself for being so naive.
Yeah I disputed, I had withdrawn some the day of at like 12AM on the 15th before everything went crazy. And yeah we're still in the dark which is a joke. And did Patrick tell you that?
No, it was some woman. Here's hoping we hear something soon. I can't imagine it would be longer than like 2-3 months? Then again... Government.
The thing that probably tilts me the most about the whole thing is that I don't even know if my claim will be wrongfully denied or not. It would be too much to ask to pay us the short balances they had for us with everyone else, and then make us whole after our dispute was reviewed, of course (again, whenever the **** that happens).
Anyone think that at this point, it was a mistake to give sentries hallucination for free?
- it gives Protoss basically free scouting the whole game without risking anything but sentry energy, no investment into stargate/robo/hallucination upgrade needed
- it keeps Protoss from being punished for poor MSC micro in blink all-ins because hallucinated units can give high ground vision

Do you have Patricks #? He's the one to call to actually get answers imo. PM if needed.
