on another note: zerg players now who didnt play before prob dont realize how spoiled they are with this map pool

there seems to be no LOLAWFUL maps, whereas before at least half of them had instant lose spawn positions

Haha, still undefeated vs Terran this season thanks to some donk. Naturally when someone tards up a storm in chat I google their sn to see if they're on TL or something so I can go talk **** and laugh, but when I google this guy I find this TL thread (he doesn't appear to post there, but he's mentioned):

Hahaha o wow. So what does MicroSyntax do when he loses a game that he opened by killing 20 of my workers with blue flame hellions when I was still on 2 bases? (following lots of other chat too where he is not happy)

Some fun facts about this game:
- he tried a 4 medivac drop and then a 2 medivac drop, they all died without doing anything and he said "wtf" in chat like he doesn't understand how watchtowers work
- not a single marine split was attempted that game
- his "one mistake" he made he was bitching about was I guess that he attacked my 4th and didn't put his mines down. This may have been because, with his mines leading the way, he stimmed and ran forward into creep (I also saw this coming w/ watchtower and had my entire army into position) so I r-click banes onto him and lolled.



When this started, I had 2/2 vs his 0/0 and was up 10 supply with a typical #goofymacro bank and 4 bases to his 3. Referring to this attack, he said:

Other win vs T: I fend off all his midgame biomine attacks, get to 4 bases vs his 3, he starts transitioning into mech (thors to deal with my mutas, and a couple tanks) and even a couple random BCs, I start getting worried my army won't do well vs his so as he starts to siege up my 4th I just run my army around him to base trade. He accepts this offer, and I start putting hatches everywhere on a huge bank while he........does nothing and dies when I kill his main and he has 0 buildings left. He was really heavy on the mines, I think I would have won easily if I just made some swarm hosts (would have been good vs the mech switch too).

gif above also illustrates how terribly annoying mine attack priority is. Despite them leading the charge my units are like "nahhh, we can let those go" and just attack the marines, allowing 4 mines to get planted down which could have done a lot of damage to my army if my banes hadn't already done most of the work I needed from them.

IM, MVP, Prime have joined Kespa and will compete in the next Proleague which starts Dec. 28. Woongjin is out (I think the only players they even have left are Soulkey and sOs).

seems to me like not hotkeying the mines did in fact cost our terran player, to be fair. Doesn't excuse the pointless QQing though

i don't know if this is just a sample size, but it seems like way over 50% of people cheese in platinum. i miss diamond. this isn't very fun...

my last games have been like

8 pool
2 rax
no drone ling/bane
no unit muta rush
10/9 speedling
8 pool (same guy as before, LOL)

im pretty sure sending mines in in a giant ball is already a poor start to a fight. unless he was back there mashing burrow, it looks like he spent about 0 apm on his marines, which would have done very well vs that if he bothered to control them at all, esp cause his mines are blocking the path quite a bit.

Can someone teach me how to zerg?

I've lost two ZvZs tonight in exactly the same fashion:
- opponent goes for mass ling all in
- I get 4 queens, wall off and spine, hold with flying colors
- he has mass lings out on the map, takes a fast 3rd, I can't do anything about it or take my own third cause his lings have map control, he techs up to mutas and has a way better economy than me on 3 bases and wins

What do I do in this spot?

Also, it's really lovely that with ZvZ being my worst matchup by far Blizz has matched me up in as many ZvZs on ladder this season as ZvT/ZvP combined

if you're ahead on 2 base cant you just roach allin vs lings and crush pre spire?

I tried that in 2nd game but he had mutas out, I killed his 3rd but it was way too late.

And you'll notice I haven't been qq'ing since widow mine patch.

(actually I think it's just a function of my zvz loserate causing my MMR to match me up vs really bad Terrans, I just can't beat the really bad Zergs)

gambonee - not sure what you mean. I don't deny their third, which is the problem. If I wait long enough to get hydras out with my roaches, I feel like 2 base roach hydra is not even remotely scary to someone on 3 base ling/bane/muta - when I'm in that position, I roll banelings into the hydras, laugh to myself, and clean up whatever's left pretty easily.

well you said you killed his 3rd. but i guess if its been up long enough to put him ahead its different.

didnt know banes could get by roaches well enough to be effective. turtle hard with static D and double expo behind?

If he dumps all his early larvae on lings you should be able to get full 2 base saturation much quicker and tech to spire much faster than him and kill him.
