And it is more difficult for some people to gain weight than others just like some people have trouble losing weight. Trust me, I've put on 15 pounds in the last 8 months or so and it hasn't come easy at all. Let's not get into bench press dick-waving contests in a starcraft forum, lol
This is just not true unless you reword it or something. The ability to lift on an absolute scale goes UP with height until you get over a certain height.
And of course there are huge differences between different people, but bodyweight bench is not a difficult target for any healthy male and can be reached quickly for anyone if they actually tried.
What was hard about you gaining 15 pounds? If you start at equilibrium and in 8 months you drink 2 protein shakes a day (with milk, for example so ~ 500 cals) extra and keep everything else the same and you would gain roughly that, in fact you would gain more almost certainly. The only hard thing about it would be remembering to do it and that isn't too tricky a problem to solve. I have friends who say they can't gain weight, but then I lived with them, and they ate **** all. They claimed they ate like a horse, but that was true like once a week maybe.
