When does a Zerg typically take a 3rd? As in, if I don't see a 3rd by x minutes, i should be really concerned and throwing down bunkers.

MMA was already kinda washed up when he went to Acer, don't think that was a product of going to the foreign scene.

Blizz is going with the overseer change (OL speed used to make overseer speed 2.75, will now be 3.375). As TL points out, here are all the ways in which Blizzard has decided to change all Z matchups just to avoid nerfing the widow mine:

• Overseers now can escape Stalker following (old Overseer at 2.75 against 2.95 Stalker)
• Overseers now can escape Viking following (Viking is still 2.75 speed)
• Overseers now can follow Mutalisks 22% easier and faster
• Overseers also can follow more normally Roaches / Lings on creep
• Stimmarines can run at 3.375 speed, so it means that they will less shoot at escaping Overseer because there are small stop-pauses when Marine shoots
Plus it will be even harder to deny them scouting. Great job blizz, ****ing morons

My guess is that the person responsible for the widow mine's creation/maintenance is high up in the balance team and is a stubborn **** that refuses to admit that the unit is inbalanced

Looking at the balance changes in Liquipedia throughout the beta is pretty hilarious.

- Used to require armory, removed
- Splash damage was 35, increased to 60, reduced to 40
- Used to automatically hit cloaked units, even if you didn't have detection for them (lol!!!!!)
- Used to burrow in 2 seconds, they increased to 3 and added Drilling Claws
- Used to have same attack priority as other units when unburrowed, they made it lower
- Decreased primary attack damage (but increased it vs shields to make sure it one-shots stalkers)

At no point in its history have I looked at the logic behind this unit and the stuff they've done with it and understood whatsoever what the **** they're thinking.

seems fine to me?...

Also widow mines are only a bit OP vs zerg, nerfing them would make them absolutely more obsolete in mirror and vs P.

And zerg always whined about how its harder to scout as Z. Seems like overseer speed buffs fixes a ton of crap.

The extent to which they're useful vs T/P (to snipe banshees, vikings, oracles) through the 125/160 primary damage they deal has nothing to do with the things about them that require nerfing vs Z.

And it's a stupid buff because instead of addressing the unit causing the imbalance (widow mines), Blizzard is doing exactly what they said they don't want to do by making changes that affect other matchups.

Even having enough splash to kill workers seems stupid, since
- as it exists now, mine splash won't kill SCVs, only protoss/zerg workers
- Terrans already have other factory units (hellions/hellbats) whose sole purpose in life is to roast workers, and widow mine drops have kind of died from the meta anyway even after the hellbat nerf

Randomly reminds me: do you remember when Terrans used to try to be smart with hellions and keep them alive instead of just suiciding 4 of them and try to take down as many workers as possible before they died? Memories...

it sounds like you just want to go back to when zerg was the easiest race by a mile. it doesnt seem like games are even close to as 1 sided as you make it sound. its also not like terran are making huge mistakes and still winning games. 1 big baneling hit is just as powerful as 1 big mine hit when its so close the entire game.

still dont think zerg are doing much but the same every single game. seems like the onus is on them to create something new rather than sit back and wait for balance to be ripped back in your favor

I mean, the meta evolved to this point, it's not like every Zerg went ling-bane-muta in WoL (I remember watching narwhal's stream back then and always being like Y U MAKE SPIRE INSTEAD OF INFESTORS?!?) and is just too lazy to change up from the 1 strategy they know how to play, so I'm not exactly sure why you're suggesting this. How many times you do need to see a Zerg get annihilated because roach-hydra blows against upgraded bio or see a Zerg get destroyed by drops because swarm hosts are immobile before they will have "tried something else" (and utterly failed) to your satisfaction?

I dont think blizzard means if zerg gets a tiny bit stronger against toss either.

Its not like zergs were winning much more against P than against T? (probably the opposite lately, would have to check)

Jeez, acer just got much better and they were decent even before this.

I wonder how much he is getting paid. It makes sense for him to leave STX, for some Reason I didn`t realize how "weak" his team is before. Which actually makes it even more impressive that he is SO ****IN GOOD.

zerg used to go ling bane muta before like 90% went pure infestor/bl. im not saying people havent tried, but it seems hard to believe they are trying enough. roach hydra is still very strong, you just have to be able to transition out. there seems to be a bunch of builds that abuse the quick 3rd cc that i dont see anymore (personally). stephano style, quick max and just run over a terran who barely has an army. do enough damage with roach hydra to switch to mutas/ultras. almost every game they lose is because they sit there past the point of winning fights, then are stuck to defend with a weaker army.

im definitely not saying i could do better than them or that their isnt a problem. im just saying that waiting for nerfs is far from the best approach in a weak matchup.

So Im looking to buy a new laptop. The biggest gripe I had about my old one was that it couldnt really handle WoL. I dont want the screen size to be bigger than 15in. because I want it to be able to fit in my traveling bag. Im looking to spend no more than 1000-1500. Does anyone have any suggestions?

I'm pretty happy with my Sager laptop that I bought on xoticpc.com. The model I got is specifically 17" but they have 15" models.
