Nobody else plays pudge.

dendi's a wizard. i've seen other teams try to run him and do ok but dendi's in a class of his own.

also they got to play the pudge in the first game because tongfu already picked a dk to go mid. pudge can have some problems vs a strong ranged laner like a qop. a little scared this second game. wow doom. interesting.

yea don't really get this doom pick at all. pudge does most of his damage from out of vision and mid game alch uses lothar to start fights so they're using their mid hero to shut down a support?

Kirby's post caused me to try a 4th and I'm still kinda like wat.

It did just occur to me that I'm not sure I've ever seen a teamfight that was close or intriguing, it's always one team raping the other.

Also goofy, nobody expects outside observers to understand what the hell is going on lol. Thats kind of the problem of moba's a lot of the entertainment comes from seeing what people do in certain situations with their skills and understanding what goes on because youve played the game and know every skill and item etc.

But even for "veterans" the action in big fights is very chaotic.

The commentators were just talking about that, and they said Valve said it's allowed.

Seems like a bug that they decided ex post facto is a feature. Also seems really stupid.

its not a bug

its a combination of two skills.

Chen (the guy that controls neutral creeps) has a spell that sends a friendly hero back to base after a countdown of 3 seconds. http://dota2.gamepedia.com/Chen (test of faith)

The thing is the pudge hooks inside that half a second window before he gets called back, and he pops in town while the hook is in the air. So the skill hooks him where pudge is at impact, which is now in town ldo.

Its EXTREMELY hard to do consistently. And its not free to try since you waste time if you miss, etc. Note that the hook is not a simple click on a hero spell, you have to select an area and hit it near perfectly. Its an art that only dendi masters .

It looks weird and you could argue that hook "should" pull only as far as to where the pudge was, but thats about it.

Ok it's an unintended and possibly broken feature. You say its not broken because everyone isn't doing it, but when these things crop up usually only a small number of people can take advantage but then it spirals out of control as more people learn how to use it and it breaks the game.

its been known for like 2 years and it cant spin out of control because its not broken (as in OP)
