its very hard to beat with ling/bane/muta. have you tried infestors? infested terran spam to trigger mines and you get to hive for ultras much faster.

Not very sure. I played random in WC3 (preferred Orc and HU over UD though). In BW I played zerg, but never played it competitively. I'd prefer a race with relatively more micro involved (but I'm guessing it's pretty balanced?).

Maybe I'll try that. Skipping mutas leaves you pretty vulnerable to drops though, I'm losing these games almost entirely to frontal attacks even while killing off full medivacs on the flanks.

you're only vulnerable if you don't make spores and don't have good vision. going muta lets you not make spores at the edges of your bases but you can get an infestor w/ fungal earlier than you can get mutas. mutas also give you an aggressive harassment option but with turrets/marines/mines most terrans have become very good at defending mutas. infestors make it easier to win fights and you get to hive a lot earlier for 3/3, ultras, and adrenal glands.

imo the #1 benefit of muta play is the aggressive harassment. dealing w/ drops is more about your map awareness. you can make up for the lack of mobility with static defense.

You need a LOT of spores to keep medivacs from just boosting over them and LOLing at your weak attempts at keeping them out of your base.

I like skipping mutas ZvT. If I do make mutas I get them very fast (~6:30 spire) to try to catch the terran off guard. Usually I just try to get 3/3 ultra ling bane as fast as possible. Ultra ling is amazingly good against terrans that can't micro perfectly.

4 control groups? Dude Korean pro gamers don't even use that many, in fact a lot only use 2. Post a replay please. I have a feeling bad trading and bad engagements constantly as well as not good enough drop defense are your problems, because they are my problems!

I find I get dropped to death if I don't go muta.

Yeah Terran but I think Protoss appear to be the most WC3 player friendly race for some reason (might be coincidence with pros).

I always end up peeling off too much of my army and not setting them off, or not peeling enough and losing the normal massive amount of units to them... But it feels awesome when I accidently do it right.

Yeah, confirmed now. Says he'll be moving to WCS Europe in 2014 and really wanted the opportunity to go to more foreign events. Should be cool.

the video game community is so lol sometimes. i lose a ZvP where i commit that mortal sin of not clicking on a building pylon because I see a lot of gates assume blink stalker all in...turns out it's a DT build followed up by a blink all in. I of course lose a lot of drones and then lose the game. He messages me (I didn't GG) to troll me about not GGing and being awful. I maintain calm and subtly troll him back about what kind of person messages people after games like that...he is only interested in trolling me further and saying 'UMAD UMAD UR SO BAD' over and over again.

Next game on star station...I get three pylon blocked at the top of the ramp (this has been happening a lot to me recently and I lose to it like every time). It's clear I'm going to lose, so I ask him if this works on every map and he responds "wow, you're not mad? impressive"

Do these people play solely to get satisfaction out of angering strangers on the internet? It's something I'll probably never understand.
