Hello everyone. I am reading a book and it's helping me learn things. If anyone has an extremely complicated build they are having trouble memorizing they should look into building a Memory Palace to store it in. Do builds that are so complicated people have trouble memorizing them exist? I don't know.

I remembered some guys list of groceries/chores that I didn't even care about by placing them around the home I grew up in, in my brain. Pretty sweet technique.

Just got **** on by FXOasd's Protoss lol.

On the bright side, I stomped on two top 8 masters protosses to get to him.

It appears to commemorate the 2nd anniversary of the GSL, Gom is making all VODs on their site free from 8pm Pacific tonight (Sep 3) to 8pm Wednesday. What epic matches should we all watch in celebration? Besides game 5 of MVP-Squirtle of course.

Definitely interesting, but I don't think there's any builds that are so hard to remember that this would be helpful.

That said, I'm a silver nub who never plays so maybe I'm dead wrong lol.

The scene: Daybreak, Ladder Edition. It's goofyballer's first game of SC2 in five days. Distraught, he arrives at the map to see he has rolled Protoss against a Zerg, his favorite matchup ever. With 4gating so ingrained in his memory, goofyballer completely forgets that he was totally gonna try to forge fast expand in PvZ and goes for the same old 4gate build. He sends a probe to scout; as the probe arrives in his opponent's base, he discovers 6 lings passing by! Rut roh, our opponent has 9pooled! CHRONO THAT ZEALOT!

Luckily our opponent's micro is not the best, and all 6 lings die at the expense of 1 pylon, 1 probe, and 0 macro taking place during the episode. Ever determined, we forge onward. And build a forge.

Completely thrown off by this monkey wrench, goofyballer has no idea how to continue. He puts a random mishmash of buildings together - sure, better late than never to put that forge down, and how about a couple cannons, and let's go, oh, 3 gates, and hey I guess a twilight council is a good building, yeah let's do that. Oh a sentry for the ramp is prob a good idea, and beyond that...

...you know what's a good unit? Zealots. Especially when they're, like, upgraded and fast and ****. 1/1 and charge it is!

The upgrades begin, and zealots are warped in. By the 10 minute mark, goofyballer is dominating his opponent, who never built any army to speak of after the initial 6 lings and has presumably been focusing on his economy, by a massive score of 49 to 42 supply. 9 zealots and 2 stalkers make up his fearsome army. A forward pylon established, he marches into his opponent's base.

Still lacking any sort of army, he arrives on the attack to see 8 spine crawlers waiting. But those fearsome, brave chargelots charge onward and slice and dice through them all, quickly mowing through opponent's drones and taking out the hatchery. But simultaneously...MUTALISKS APPEAR. Totally unscouted, completely unprepared, goofyballer frantically builds cannons in his mineral line as production buildings are attacked.

They never finish.

****ing slow cannons.

All his probes quickly die, leaving the one idle probe hanging out by the forward pylon he built. The probe quickly joins the main army, the small child needing to be protected as the lone unit that can save the Protoss race in this fight.

goofyballer's army consists of exactly 3 units (two stalkers, one sentry) that can shoot upward. Our opponent has 10 mutalisks left. Nevertheless, a base trade he chooses, and a base trade he will get.

The chargelots advance into the main. 4 spine crawlers, a queen, and some fairly good simcity await. They don't stand a chance. The crawlers, the roach warren, the spire, the spawning pool, the extractors are erased, and yet...the game is not over? No reveal has happened? HAS OUR OPPONENT SURPRISED US?

goofyballer dashes to the third base. The mutalisks, whittled down to a count of 9 by cannons, work on slowly taking down already-unpowered buildings. The forward pylon is still intact, and our glorious last probe has survived (with enough money for one pylon or two assimilators!) to create more buildings if needed. We still have time.

The zealots arrive at the third to see a hatchery - quiet, and alone. The Zerg player, a resident of Tampa and likely fan of Clint Eastwood's interviews with empty chairs, has spent the last of his minerals, and his final presence on this world is but a cold, calm hatchery.

Still with only 3 units that could weakly oppose them, the 9 mutalisks remain at the Protoss base.

The zealots go to work. Their blades are unforgiving. But a mere 15 seconds after the chaos begins, it ends, and the game with it.

Our opponent is revealed to be a member of the prestigious gold league. A star at the bottom of the icon further indicates his skill.

But that skill would not save him on this day.

No, not today.

I cant wait for the sequel...

is anyone else not getting bonus pool when they win a game?

I had a game last night where I didn't get the full bonus pool - like, my first game was +14 with +14 bonus pool, and then I had a bunch of bonus pool still left over but it was only +12 with +7 bonus?

I know this isn't exactly the biggest center of Day9 fans, but he's playing HotS on his stream right now. Like, him actually playing the game on stream. IDK about others, but I'm a bit curious as to how good he actually is.

He played yesterday too if you want to see more games. He got supply blocked a few times. It was pretty funny cause everyone was spamming "probes and pylons" in the chat.
