You know what the best part of PvP is? embarassing people who go for a 4 gate and get sealed out of your base. I played a guy who was streaming, and he kept trying to drill the 4 gate into my base. Before he realized it, there were a ton of blink stalkers in his base.

Worst part of PvP is getting embarassed by a four gate though

When I actually cared about this game, i improved the most by playing against Stunna and pwncake all the time. You learn much faster when you have someone who can review your game from the opponents perspective. It also helps to expose your leaks because they'll figure you out from playing so much. And I don't tilt as much when I lose to people i know.

Yea I remember Stunna and I were playing a bo 20 something that we never finished lol. And zefa always bugged me to play like 30 games in a row, but he has unreal endurance compared to me, especially considering PvP.

I probably improved mostly from the customs we ran. Way better than ladder.

Seriously- when you love to lose- when you love pain- that is what makes you strongest. Need to master the emotions of hate and love, neither is good or bad, as long as you know when to use them and control them rather than other way around.

Some things you need to try hard in, other things trying ahrd can be a hinderence. But in starcraft it is all about the rage. Just pretend that if you lose you are going to die and you must win every game. And accept both death and activity as the lessons they are.

Whee, just got my 2nd win vs. Protoss against someone that wasn't trying to throw the match by building pylons all around my base. He definitely wasn't all that great, as there was a big battle at 16:00 that I won very easily despite it being, like, 25 stalkers + 9 zealots + 8 sentries vs. 18 marauders + 30? marines. I did have medivacs though, medivacs confirmed OP? He put down a lot of forcefields with his sentries but didn't use guardian shield so that def should have gone worse for me than it did.

Not the super obvious stuff, like I know I sometimes space out for 30 seconds and forget to build units and that's something I'll get better at with time, but more just anything else you guys notice. In particular I'm curious about how I can scout better and what specifically I should do at different points in the game to accomplish that; like, in this game I never knew he took a (very vulnerable) 3rd, I never knew he had DT tech until I scanned his front before an attack and saw DTs there, I def need to work on knowing more about what my opponent is doing. Should I throw a couple SCVs at my opponent's 3rd/4th and leave them there so I'll know when they're expanding? What about knowing what's going on (buildings/tech) behind my opponent's front line? I was watching a day9 vid and he brought up the very good point that MULEs are awesome and worth lots of minerals and you should try to avoid spending 50 energy on a scan if there are other ways to gain that info.

started playing on my main account and am getting raped so hard, although i am pretty tired right now

but i play so slow. gotta like "remember" what im supposed to do in given game situations rather than having it down by instinct like before.

also general speed is obviously very slow. see a drop, hurr durr, let's click 8 different places that arent helpful and then get the drop.

On a nice little 5-6 game win streak in ladder, all against bronze droolers and some poor guy that got put in Gold after his placement matches (and was also the worst of them all, army supply was 146-38 when I marched on his base - and the only damage I'd done before then was taking out like 4 siege tanks with banshees). Macroing is difficult for my opponents. One Protoss actually gave me some trouble and launched a couple scary attacks on my base, was doing good harassment with void rays too, but I don't think he was actually building workers because I was surprised to see in the replay that he was never very high on money despite having an army made up of total **** after his second attack failed.

I guess my standard build now is 2 rax -> expand -> 3 more rax, factory, 2 starports, engineering bay, upgrades, lots of marines/marauders/medivacs.

Still need to work on:
- scouting
- taking a third
- knowing my strength relative to my opponent's (ties in to #1) - most of my games are taking 20 minutes and that just shouldn't be the case when I'm coming at them with an army of doom

I like two starports- 4 gas can run 2 ports and double upgrades easy enough- but it might be hard to get air weapons-
