So I played a few more practice games. Won them, so with a 3/3 record I went to play the placement matches. I won 2/lost 2 and one of them my opponent disconnected and i was awarded the win. They have placed me in silver league. Wtf I am a complete newb at the game, literally without a clue how do I get to the bronze league where I belong?

Just play and you'll get matched with people near your skill level. I think in the beginning you just have to fight through it. Don't worry so much about your league. If you won 2 games that probably means you aren't a window-licker.

Some people in Bronze are absolutely awful.

The more you play the better the system gets.

aren't bronze and silver leagues pretty much the same ? (i'm not saying this to be a dick, but like...the skill differences between the two have to be similar, no?)

In the past, yeah.

There is a huge skill jump between low silver and high silver though. (lol experience)

Its all perception. Its like when all the 2/4 players would say the difference between 25nl and 50nl was negligible. And then when you talk to the 25/50 players theyll tell you the difference between 1/2 and 2/4 is negligible.

At first glance the 1v1 map looks ok. The second one shows that blizzard doesn't ****ing learn at all. The text implies you can spawn everywhere. Can't ****ing wait for vertical positions against a terran, it's been a while since I lost to a terran pushing a narrow corridor with tanks...

The rocks are only on the base one might take for a 4th, right? I assumed the spawns were top-left, bottom-right.

i just made a thread to try to get ppl to post 2 base timing attacks so we can all learn them off each other instead of pulling them from tl/reps

i'm imagining this thread taking off and people googling "sc2 2 base timing attack" and arriving here and this forum becoming the alternative to TL for strategy since TL is so overrun

So I won 1/10 of my first ladder matches after placement. Should have won a few others but made lol mistakes that literally cost me whole game. I also played 2 diamonds and 3 golds wtf?

Right now the ladders are locked so people can't be demoted out of their league.

Around this time a lot of people lose on purpose so that they play lower level players. So while it shows them having a diamond or gold league icon, their MMR is really wherever you are at.

S5 starts on, I want to say, Monday so everything will get reset (besides the MMR).

You'll have to play 1 placement match and it'll put you in another division with new ladder members.

Seasons last 2 months.

Thanks for info. I didn't mind playing them at all, losing doesn't bother me except when I lost due to my own stupidity. Like I had a guy out supplied by 40 z v z but he had mutalisks and therefore won by default. No anti air
