I've been running into a lot of that on ladder lately, basically CombatEX fanboys. Nothing feels better than trolling them 15 mins later when you're crushing them.

Semi-funny story from work...

So I'm going to school while working nights at an ambulance company here in Scottsdale.

I'm able to bring my laptop in and cruise the internet and play Starcraft for roughly 70% of my shift because of how slow it is and how overstaffed we are.

Well this guy from the day shift got moved to the night shift and he sits right next to me.

I told him to answer any calls that come in for the next 15-30 minutes because I was going to play a 1v1.

"Oh, Starcraft, bro?! I heard of that! Lemme watch..."

So I let him watch and it's not 2 minutes before he's giving me strat advice lol. Now I'm not expert by any stretch, but this guy had literally never even seen a game of SC before this.

Long story short, he absolutely loves the game (watching at least) and the rest of the night he proceeds to call out whenever my minerals got above 200, while offering up gems like, "why not build 2 supply depots right away at 10 supply?"

He was extremely impressed with zealots. I faced someone who got 3/3 chargelots who ended up raping me in the late game and for the next hour he would not stop talking about what "we" can make to counter such devastating units.

Hahaha, I was crackin up half the time, and doing my best to not choke him out the other.

Nice to add another Starcraft fan though. Oh, and I just woke up to get ready for tonight's shift.

He sent me a text telling me to not forget my laptop because "he has some good ideas on how to beat those zealots."

it's like Thremp, the #1 starcraft fan/expert you'll ever meet (i swear i dont know anyone who watches more sc2 than thremp... maybe needle i guess), but he's never played the game!

i tried to convince him to get the starter edition, but apparently his estonian pc cant handle it

It tilts me so much when someone starts bming after the game and when you try to troll them they have their private chat set so only friends can message them.

I get that **** for free.

Either way this game is worth paying for.

Yea another shortsighted blizzard mistake. Why should one be able to message randoms if the randoms have no way to message them back. Clearly it is going to be used for BM abuse.

I guess you need to up the BM meta game by preemptively BMing people in-game. Or just report them. Nothing else you can really do to get at them.

It is pretty damn awesome. Used to grind poker before black friday But I can help you be less jelly by telling you my schedule. I work every single thursday, friday, and saturday night. Still worth it tho imo to have such freedom.

This has been my first experience with this but yeah I agree it's pretty cool. (even if some of his comments are annoying)

But yeah he's super into it. Each of the last two nights as soon as I get in he's asking when we're gonna play our first game, which race I think we'll get paired against first, etc haha.

You should look forward to the time when he finally decides to buy the game so he can see how terrible he actually is. Then you can play him in a "friendly" match and show him who's boss.

After last night I want nothing more than for this to happen. I lost one long macro game and he used it as an opportunity to tell me he thinks my attack timing is way off. I mean just laugh out ****ing loud. He knows nothing about map control, opponent unit composition, etc. All of which play into when you should attack. I tried explaining this but all he did was play the "you just don't want to listen to me because you don't think I know enough to comment." BINGO you ****ing mouth breather! Unfortunately, I won't ever get to play him because he's broke as **** and has no way to play the game. But what you said is so spot on with how im feeling right now haha.

this has happened to me in some non-negligible amount of games and i can confirm that it makes you feel pretty dumb being on the other end of this
