I'm not entirely following your wording but...
if player x at +1.5 is 2.000 using decimal betting odds, you need to win the bet 50% of the time.
So I would say in a bo3 he has to win 1 game. Which means he must win either the 1st or the 2nd.
odds of winning game 1 + odds of winning game 2 = 50%
assume odds of winning g1 = odds of winning g2
so I'd say he needs a 25% win rate to THEORETICALLY make this profitable.
I evaluate +1.5/-1.5 lines way differently than this method, so i could be way off here.
