What level is your opponent? What do you usually like to do PvP? What is your level too? Good luck btw. Also, I don't like proxy 2 gate @ gold. Isn't that spotted by the watchtowers? I'd much rather it at the, well sort of nowhere besides the ramped 3rd bases IMO, and that's risky too.

That blink stalker/hidden base stuff is just not good anymore.

It gets beat up so bad by robo into blink.

If you can't trust yourself to micro/macro well enough, proxy 2 gate is very easy to execute once you practice it a few times. I'm not saying it's a sure fire win, but if they don't scout it fast enough you will win a lot. And in general you will win more than you would playing straight up.

Also no one checks golds on MLG maps unless they have had it done to them or are familiar with Naniwa lol.

Shame it's not XNC or Shakuras. Fun to cannon rush too.

i think this is a very adept community and it's very revealing as to how nitty and trollish any adept community can be... just like strategy forums on 2p2, you have to be pretty adept (incorrect usage of this word i'm sure) to find these forums and then participate in them, and judging by the amount of trolls and huge nits who find them and participate in such an adept community, there are just a lot of trolls and nits out there

variance: bling bust killed his tech lab he walled off with (cloak might have ended the game w. his 1-1-1).

oh how i've missed this game. d/l the patch this morning to see how awesome protoss is

zerg proceeds to 6 pool
zerg proceeds to have 6 pool denied despite my ****ing up off complete wall off
zerg then tries to baneling bust me, which i scout forming at the watch tower and kill
i then push to the zerg's main and then see a nydus network! quickly dumping a pylon in the one area of my main that i don't have vision of, i see a overlord begin to dump creep
zerg then proceeds not to nydus my main, instead waiting for no reason while my voidrays, completely untouchable after he hasn't remade his queen following my previous push, take it out
zerg then calls me a noob and leaves the game

I get the feeling you are often not pleased with you team game partners! Perhaps you should seek some sort of permanent teammate!

I don't play regularly or consistently enough for a set teammate. =(

Or just save all the hassle and play 1v1.

I've taken 1v1 as far as I care to go. I was top 200 world according to sc2ranks before I stopped playing (lol worthless rating number), several hundred points ahead of the #2 guy in my diamond division (which wasn't that competitive tbh, but I can't control that). I didn't make blizz's top 200 NA because I get roflstomped against truly skilled players; my talent lies in always giving myself a puncher's chance in games. My APM is somewhere between 15-25, which doesn't help. To get decent competition, I'd crush low-mid diamond players for 10 games before getting moved up in MMR and then getting squashed 3-5 games in a row. Repeat.

TLDR: I suck too much to play 1v1 competitively in tournaments, which would be the only real next step.

For me team games > 1v1 by a large margin.
