Yeah, I don't really care. You are just a better player than I am. Not like I'm going to cry you only win cus toss op or anything when there are many other z's that can beat you.

I try not to make a ton of lings early anymore. I'd like to hear your read on me though :P

I don't think that's true at all haha. I just practice PvZ a lot :/

Just being straight up honest. You play super aggressive and you like to hit a lot of different timings. I play to deflect them. My whole gameplan is survive until I get a third then take advantage of my unit composition.

Watch our replays. I always sim city real tight with more than enough cannons. I put stalkers in places where you might drop.

I know you only make like 55-60 drones all game so if I can get a big army you won't be able to afford to reinforce.

I think if you played more macro heavy, and if you just droned a ton you would beat me every game even if you didn't trade dollar for dollar.

Does anyone know of a good 1 base tank/rine build?

I've just been dicking around with it and I always seem to end up with too much of one resource.

Assume you can go 1 rax at the start and that you won't face super early pressure.

Pwns response to pretty much every build is to mash d really hard.

(that's why he's so good vs t and p and so bad vs z)

Just tried it out.

Couple of problems with it.

After getting the reactor there's like a 15 second period during which my minerals pile up to like 300+ before I can get enough gas to build a factory.

Once I have the factory, what's the point of waiting to make 2 tanks before starting seige? Are you using the gas to make a second factory?

http://wiki.teamliquid.net/starcraft...Push_(vs._Zerg)

couple things:
This build isn't difficult to micro, but you have to be microing it, ie siege-unsiege-move, moving marines forward, then back into siege cover. When doing this its really easy to like macro slip. I've lost a lot of games with this because my 3 tank push is super successful, then i look and have like 1k mins. If you feel like you are just running over the Zerg, its very important to drop your command center and more rax. if you are running him over, its probably because he just doesn't quite have mutas out. if you dont have those extra rax down by the time he does, you'll be in trouble.
it can also help to bring 2-3 scvs with push for repair, bunkers, or turrets.

T player walls off on Xel Naga. So I proxy a stargate in the blue third area and go void ray + stalker. I show up at his base. ****, he has a bunker.

No problem, build assimilator at his nat. Charge up 2 voids, cancel assimilator before it's done, win game.

PvZ is ****ing hard right now.

My protoss teammate and I have basically just been 2 base all-ining every game.

It's actually not that hard to win a Bo5 or Bo7 PvZ, by abusing your opponent's style, but I feel like there's a ton of stuff Z can do in the midgame and the simplest way to deal with it in a ladder or Bo1 tournament game is to just 7 gate blink/sentry all-in (w/ obs if you think roach).

finally won a PvZ

horrible quality - probably should spend some time practicing walling so that i don't lose my main very quickly to ling runbys, fortunately my natural held and he showed no inclination to expand or finish me after that, so i pull out the protoss gayness book and stick some cannons in his main and natural, dt's, clown around for too long before thinking that the counter to many roaches and not much else is obv to make phoenixes

sixfour -

I'll make comments as I'm watching.

1. Make sure to get your first pylon down at 9/10. This is important and should be standard in every single game you play for the rest of your life. I also like to pick a probe that isn't holding any minerals as minerals early are extremely important. Some might think it's a small point, but to me I don't like to waste them. Against Zerg put your pylon above your ramp so that the power radius is just touching the top of the ramp, or a little bit back. Far enough back where you can still get around it, but close enough that you can build a gateway and cybercore at your ramp. Having it down below like that is a disaster waiting to happen. And because you didn't get your pylon down on time, you are now supply blocked and getting way behind.

2. Don't really need a forge on Delta Quadrant. You can't really FFE since there is no way to block a secondary entrance. That's jmo. Just get a gateway/cyber core to block your ramp and then get a zealot to block the small opening. 1 zealot will hold any early pressure.

3. Expanding that early before having anything also seems like a bad idea. I'm guessing you're in Bronze? I think at your level you should focus on at least 1 base for now. When I first started playing SC2 I only played off 1 base. I always thought in my head, "I don't understand why everyone tells me to expand. I can win just by playing off one base." Work on 1 base macro for now until you get your initial build order memorized.

4. It's hard to cannon rush a Zerg because you can't build on creep. The best thing to do is try to contain them in their base (not letting them get out, not letting them expand, denying their natural).

5. Instead of sidescrolling the map, work on clicking the minimap to see what you want to see a lot faster.

6. When you took 2 zealots to attack his spine crawlers you were taking a lot of damage. Once you see there are 2-3 there, and 1 pounding away at you, I would just back up until you have more units to overwhelm him.

7. You sure do like cannons! hahaha jk

8. Zealots are generally a bad idea vs. Roaches. As soon as you see he has roaches you should try to get stalkers asap.

9. Make sure when warpgate is finished that you immediately warp in a round of units and that everytime the warpgate cooldown is finished, you warp in more units.

10. Make sure you're ALWAYS building probes. It took awhile for me to pound it into my head to always make probes, but it's vitally important. You want to try and get at least 30 per base. 3 on each gas (6) and 24 on minerals. So if you have 2 bases you ideally want 60 probes. Right now on 2 bases you have 23. Pretty much only enough to saturate 1 base, not even. Given that you only have enough for 1 base, your second base doesn't add any additional mineral income. It's good to have that 2nd base for when you can use it, but make sure to keep pumping probes to increase your income.

11. Stalkers, stalkers, stalkers, stalkers, stalkers. Maybe knowing that you're against roaches and nothing else you can get a robo and pump some immortals out. DTs are a mineral/gas sink right now that he has two forms of protection and he's not doing much other than sitting in his base.

12. Also, make sure you're using chronoboosts as much as possible. Warp in a round of units, chrono your warpgates. Start an upgrade, chrono it. Put 2 probes in production, chrono your nexus, etc.

I think he ended up leaving out of frustration. haha It's a start at least. Once you develop a feel for the game I think you'll be alright.

yeah, i uploaded it more for a laugh than for in-depth criticism, as you say i'm bronze and there's 101 things that i can work on, particularly v zerg, it's the one matchup that i really don't get at all right now

This might actually be true...I can make my units do "more" against the other races, but in a mirror it's kinda impossible to do. Ling/bane excluded, because **** ling/bane.

In other news:

Also, you beer lovers should check out homebrewing. It is surprisingly challenging, interesting, and rewarding. Doesn't cost that much to startup and over the long run you will save money (unless you are a drunk and keep buying beer like me).

My dad did that when I was a kid, also did it with wine. LDO I hated the taste, but who knows...maybe I'll give it a shot when I have a bit of spare cash.
