Ive been working on a gateway/forge or 2 gate build not sure if its actually viable but it gives you some room to pressure and still expand on time. Check out some of the kiwi builds where he 2 gates or chronos out zeals from one gateway its actually not hard to force a lot of lings and be safe. This could be because the zergs Im playing are overreacting but I think it warrants further investigation.

i wasnt saying that you can block the hatch so much, just that zerg is vulnerable to cannon play. if you don't scout the low ground and they get a cannon up down there it's just gg every time. also if you allow them to wall in a cannon you lose

To qualify, I've been drinking and this guy played it pretty badly. Also instead of "hold" I should say "barely won". But a w is a w. This all in isn't hard to stop if you do anything other than gate-core expand.

There was a sick game, I think in the NASL, where a toss held off a marine SCVs all-in after doing the same build on shattered. And he opened with a zealots and 5 sentries to boot. He used 4 FFs across the wide natural to chop up the army and somehow come out on top.
