I feel like this forum might get me to buy SC2, and then the grind/workout/life will go to hell. I played SC/BW so much before it was lol+ got super tilted by it when losing.

now every1 seems gosu(?) but the ladder system seems smart(its a random shuffle or something right?)

I was in Clan Dase(clan Di.ck in english) way back in the day(for a short while before I quit I guess)

I only watch Psystarcraft, HDstarcraft , and Husky nowadays. less stress than playing!

David, if you enjoy watching, maybe look into the GSL at gomtv.net? The commentators aren't bad and you get to follow the proscene in Korea a little bit.

are the OSL, MSL etc going to be translated to SC2? or is the GSL like the both all smashed into one? =O

Well, being able to register an account is free IIRC, to make comments and such. You can also watch the 1st game of each set for free, I think.

However, for the rest of the vods, you have to pay for each season. It turns out to be around $20 each month or so, or $15 if you continue to purchase them.

Maybe check out the website, watch the free games, and decide from there. To be honest, MLG, IEM, etc, are nice tourneys, but they don't quite match up with Blizz-backed GSL, which is attracting the best players in the world.

I think I may make the switch to zerg permanent. I tried going random but I hate playing as protoss and its not worth the aggravation of praying that I don't roll protoss every time I start up a game. I'll still play terran every so often just to keep my skills fresh especially since I'm slated to play terran in this team tournament thing were doing.

When I switched to zerg/random I dropped from about mid diamond to low platinum but now I've worked my way up to high platinum and am playing a few low diamond level players every so often.

Likely the saddest loss of my SC2 career. I doubt I could have played worse or made more mistakes with a huge lead. Honestly just wow. Goes to show you shouldn't say "Oh I've got this in the bag" and get all complacent like I just did.

why do guys that play random always seem to do weird cheese builds like bunker rushing n proxy/cannon, fast DTs, etc

Because it's extremely hard to be good at playing a macro game in 9 different match-ups. Learning 9 cheeses is like learning 3 cheeses and 6 regular strategies if you pick your race so to speak.

speaking of cheese, how did you guys ever beat terrans before they nerfed the fast reaper build order? i only been playing for a couple months now but i just saw a couple videos and that **** looks soooooo annoying getting there before you get a stalker out.. T musta been a auto win vs Z too since they couldnt FE at all :O

You can hold if off if they make a micro mistake, which is essentially guaranteed to happen unless you're playing at pro level. It was hard though, Z had much less room for error than T.

And five rax reaper was pretty loltastic. Towards the end I could kinda hold it off, but it was a lot easier when/if terran made a micro mistake and lost a few early reapers.

Getting out a few roaches shut down reaper harass pretty hard as zerg. If you didn't then running your queen and a few speedlings around on creep usually stopped too much damage.

reaper rush never really worked for me, but the fact that the zerg thought i could go 5rax reaper or that i could fake a 5rax reaper worked quite well. meta game stuff. i never did it, but the fact that people did was very helpful to me.

Was playing nex wars and we were going to lose (out of nukes and we had a dumb player). At this point, most units were high tech and the guys on top got rid of detection.

Got a zeratul, ran up the top lane and slashed up the nexus. We waited until they nearly overran us and then pointed out their dying nexus.
