Supposedly its really hard to get demoted. I know that someone on this forum deliberately lost a ton of matches in platinum league and is now playing bronze players while still being in platinum league.
Lost like 20 in a row now getting paired with bronze players... I'll get 100 loss then I'll play 100 games with bronze-silver players amirite?
No, the MMR loss per game will steadily decrease and the MMR won per game will be significantly higher so you'll play scrubs for a while but nowhere near as long as you think.
So I put in a 3 hour session today (longest I've laddered in a while). I watched every replay win or loss, and I feel like against any opponent where we have "equal" economy (bases, workers) I get stomped. All the games that I won were games where I just severely outmacro'ed my opponent (I'm talking like 70 SCVs to 50). I don't know why I can't seem to win equal matches right now. Could be sample size, but ugh. Frustrating because I feel like there's a lot of matchup where I should be winning in certain spots and end up getting crushed.
well a lot of things aren't equal for each race. for example a 2 base zerg will always lose against a 2 base terran of equal skill. their economies aren't the same.
They are an essential unit at any point in a game. Their abilities have little to do with combat (Larva inject's benefits take a while to be realized, Creep spread is just preparatory advantage, transfuse is rather difficult to micro and only T3 units are suited to it) and they are slow off of creep. Their cost of 150 minerals & 2 supply is right just the way it is.

they provide over double the capacity what a hatchery provides in larvae. zerg can expand way too quickly in current form as is
this is the bbv thread. i come here to vent. if you dont like it put me on ignore and move on.
it is so simple for zerg to fast expand and not have to worry about any type of rush from protoss. the only thing we can do against a fast expander is to 4 gate and that doesn't work half the time.

It's pretty hilarious following the trendiness of OP whining that has been going on since beta. I got into the beta in May and, from what I've seen, it seems like every 4-6 weeks it switches which race people bitch and moan about the most.
In the beginning it was zerg's larva mechanic that was broken because zerg can instantly replace a 200/200 army with the 50 larva they've been storing. Then it was Protoss. Everyone said FF was broken and should be removed, or units should be able to attack and kill FFs. Then it was terran mech is OP. Then it was terran everything is OP. Now it looks like we are getting back to zerg.
Blue Celery, you are in gold, man. If you are struggling to beat gold level zergs it means you are making serious mistakes. You really should focus on reviewing your own play and not complaining about imba. The suggestion that queens should cost gas is beyond silly and would break the game.
Despite playing on Shakuras before, I don't know why I thought the top watchtower gave vision of the area between the rocks (between the two top bases). That was a surprise when MMM rolled into the back of my base.
