Totally forgot I was one of the initial backers, even though only for 35 bucks and the Aurora ship. I installed the hangar module and now I cant wait for this thing to be released.

Still like 2 years tho. Sad.

I wouldn't upgrade just for the dfm. Personally, I'm going to wait until the pu (persistent universe) alpha is released.

Yeah I'm certainly gonna buy a new system for this but doing it now is crazy. My guess is mid-2015 for campaign release and that's what I'm most interested in anyway.

Finally got around to watching this, it looks amazing. Can't wait to upgrade this POS into a machine that can run SC, but it's too early to upgrade........

One of the packages was $15,000 but it looks like someone already bought it. There is still a $10,000 package available though.

Haven't logged into the alpha lately. Are we still just wandering around the hangar?

Looks like they're going to reveal the Dog Fighting Module tonight at a live event at PAX. Twitch is streaming it at http://www.twitch.tv/roberts_space_ind_ch_1

lots of new stuff towards the end of this

I facepalm everytime I see a dev flying with a mouse or gamepad, though. Use a joystick, you tards.

Its an encouraging sign if the game can be played with a mouse. The joystick is nearly obsolete after all.

wat

This isn't an FPS. Joystick is optimal and if you really want to be hardcore you can get a throttle too.

They have indicated they will make the game controller agnostic, just FYI.

Yeah this is one of those games where you pretty much have to have the flight stick.

not true, I think kb+m will be the best way to go considering that it has an fps component. And they will be fully supporting all control schemes anyways.

If you want to fly manually (you can turn off some flight assist stuff) then you definitely need a hotas setup or similar.

How many gamers do you think have a joystick with a throttle nowadays? My point, which should have been pretty simple to comprehend, is that it's a good thing if the game can be played reasonably well with the most common peripheral available.

My guess is a large number of the current backers have an old Saitek or Thrustmaster sitting in their closets that hasn't been used in over a decade. Count me in that group. Wonder if it still works..
