LOL the snake fight was awesome. I got through first try but my hands are shaking so bad. I had to pause several times to catch my breath.

The ending literally made me squeal in terror like a little girl. Holy **** this game is good.

I skipped lady butterfly for now general tenzen because he was a pain in the dick. Seems like it’s going well so far though, the Drunk fight was a little hard but only because getting back to him was a PITA after a death

Overall so far my impression is that this isnt more difficult than souls. Souls 3 kicked my ass harder than this game.

A lot of fights just feel so easy to cheese. I killed lady butterfly and the demon guy and every other boss i can find. Weirdly the minibosses tend to give more trouble than the big guys. The drunk was a PITA. I also cant kill the purple ninja guarding that arm upgrade.

Took down Genichiro myself just now. Died maybe a dozen times? Got to the point where I could easily get to the second phase, then managed to keep the same pace and aggression to finish him off. Had him down to one or two hits left the time before, so I feel good about the whole experience

still slowly making my way through this every odd weekend and I am at mibu village, think I'm getting close to the end. I already got the mortal blade and the flower.

God the guardian ape fights sucked a lot for me. I don't know why. Both of them - although I had an easier time with the second one for some reason, got it 2nd attempt.

Took all of last month off from the game to do a poker April bankroll challenge. Time to get back at it.

Currently at 2 mini bosses and one main boss if I remember right.

-7 spears (died too many times and may just come back)
- centipede *sshole (died several times so far, may just come back unless he is unskippable)
- genichiro (only tried once)

I started to practice a bit on the mikiri counter and am a bit better at it, but still not very good at all, as well as timing deflections vs just straight up blocking.

Let the anger flow again this weekend...

7 spears was one of the more difficult fights for me for some reason. IIRC you basically need to backstab to start the fight and burn him down quickly with mikiri counters. He can be stunned pretty easily too. Once I got it the entire fight took about 20 seconds.

Highly recommend unlocking ichimongi:double asap. It is probably the thing that carried me the most into midgame. Later on it hasnt been as useful

Ah. My style that works on most sword bosses is deflect, ichimongi double, rinse repeat. Was very easy albeit a bit time consuming.

Second phase however.... jfc that sucked

"Time consuming" is the key for me there. If you can cut down the time of the fight, that means less opportunities for you to **** up and die (and, given finite time in the world to play video games, more attempts on the boss in the same amount of hours). Time consuming strategies usually mean killing them via health bar, whereas being aggro (certainly in the Genichiro fight) lets you do it by posture breaking even if they have a lot of health left.

No my technique wittles posture quick. Quicker than anything else ive tried. Idk how to even play like youre describing.

I get mostly perfect deflects always though, that helps

If I recall correctly, that’s the first “hard “fight in the game. mikiri counter can take him down or you can stealth db him if you’re really annoyed with it.

Later on that guy I will seem trivial and you’ll laugh that you had any problems
