I have a question for those who are mid-low diamond or just got into diamond, or not at the top of diamond.

Have any of you guys played against some of the most well known players? I know Trump was playing against a few last night, Gretorp, and whoever else.

Or are those guys hidden ranking so high that you won't get matched up against them?

It's funny because when you watch those players' streams, it's not uncommon for them to get matched against each other 2-3 times in a row.

I got excited once when I played madfrog. Turns out it wasn't him as he was bad and I beat him.

Its cool watching Idra's stream has he consistently plays against big names I recognise from the GSL. Its like a private zerg-only view of GSL matches.

This is probably already known, but I was just doing some searching around and came across this:

Grand Masters League is Top 200
Masters League is top 5% of Diamond players (or 1-2% of SC2 players).

And then as far as Divisions:

The pro league will not have divisions.[10]

If you guys already knew this, then you can disregard.

Anyone know when this season comes to an end?

get in vent and just put laddering in your comment! pwny always ladders while in vent :P it gives you someone to "vent" to when you lose (get it?)/bounce strategies off of/tell you how awesome norcal is

Is this game fun? I'd like to give it a try but I'm hesitant to buy a game where skill is measured partly by how many actions you take per minute (I still have nightmares from my 24 tabling days). And it seems ubercompetitive. The close comparisons to poker (you guys even have a video review thread!) scare me.

It is super competitive. Fortunately the ladder system matches you up with people of your skill level. Just watch some videos/replays on Youtube and see if it's something you'd like. Do you play any other rts?
