Random 4v4 feels more like a circus than a strategy game... still fun in a masochistic kinda way though.

Jesus christ I suck at starcraft

I went like 10-0 yesterday, reached #1 in my platinum division and have gone 0-6 in my last 6. I am officially banned from reaper harrassing since my APM is < 300 and I need to not suck so bad.

if you are playing a 2v2 or a 3v3 and your ally disconnects, does that remove the supply cap for him? do you know how to see what his supply is if there is one?

what is with the cool new trend of "gg"ing then not surrendering? over the last few matches, i've had to completely kill off their force which included one starport floating in the top right corner of the map and a toss who gg'ed, then proceeded to build an expo while i was sitting on approx 8 carriers, a mothership and mass stalkers with all max upgrades.

So what actually constitutes APM, because apparently mashing 44444444sssssssssssddddddddddddd at the beginning of the game does not count. So wtf are people doing in the first 2 mins that has them at 300 apm?

you need to do something with both of your hands simultaneously, most of the ppl tend to only play with one hand at a time. split should be like ~100 on the keyboard ~200 on the mouse. at the start control grouping / clicking on mineral patches and saturating... if the question was serious=)
but my avg. apm only around ~200 (~150 faster game pace) so bit far from the pro level... but mainly thats what they do just lasts longer than 10mins.

How do you change your online name? I made my profile the day of release when apparently they didn't warn you that your profile name would be your online name. Currently I'm using my first name which is lame.

100% guaranteed that he's hacking.

He wouldn't be 56-0 and still in platinum league if they were legit wins. The system is designed as such that if you're consistently winning games in under 7 minutes or whatever (6 pooling/cheesing all the time) you can't get bumped to diamond.

It takes APM and "quality" of win into account when deciding if you should move up.

There are working map/drop hacks already. Just not very widespread because getting banned means you're out 60 bucks.

This isn't true.

Yes, it is. Which is why all the xx-0 hackers are in platinum.

Edit: You might have been referring to me specifically mentioning APM. THAT might not be true, but the underlying concept that it discriminates game quality to determine diamond eligibility, is.

No it's not. The ranking system doesn't care about how you win; it doesn't look at anything other than whether you win or lose. Blizzard has said this on numerous occasions.

The reason these guys are 40-0 and still in plat is a bug. I've heard it happening to some pro players too who go undefeated and don't get promoted until after they finally lose one. I have no idea why. Maybe the ranking/promotion system considers your win/loss ratio in some way and if you have 0 losses it doesn't work properly.

If you can win every single game by cheesing then why would you not deserve to be in diamond?

Defeats the spirit of the game? /shrug

I've been wrong before.

The TrueSkill ranking system will base its update of μ and σ on the game outcome (relative ranking of all teams) only; it merely assumes that the outcome is due to some unobserved performance that varies around the skill of a player. If one is playing a point based game and the winner beats all the other players by a factor of ten, that player’s victory will be scored no differently than if they had only won by a single point. Every match provides the system with more information about each player’s skill belief, usually driving σ down.

LOL just played a 4vs4 ladder match:

Some nice teammates, everyone builds a huge army, no early attacks. One guy of our team doesnt. He builds lots n lots of ghost academys + ghosts.

1. Sends about 3 ghosts each to my base and my 2 other teammates.
2. Launches a ****load of nukes into our bases.
3. Pretty much everything dead.
4. ??????
5. No Profit at all.

Was pretty funny though if i think about it. Screenname was "Sybiann" (NA Server) if u should ever meet him.
Reported him to support, wonder if theyre doing something about this kinda stuff.

Damn this game. Every time I get in a winning groove, I take a few days off and come back to getting owned by everyone I play. When I was in bronze, it was only a game or two to get back into the groove, but now it's about 5 games min before I win won. So freaking frustrating.

And why are people in silver so much better than me? I know I'm not great but srsly...

Just "won" a ZvZ against a showboater.

He was favored, beat me easily, I'm sitting in my base with like 3 hydras and a queen and he has the whole map and is attempting to build up a huge force of ultras and broodlords to kill me in "lol" fashion, game goes on 10 minutes longer than it needs to.

He discs.

LOL I win.
