From the Tasteless vid:

"I really don't like living in the United States, I actually just hate the United States as far as living there and staying there-"
"What is it about the U.S. that you don't like?"
"Um...I'll probably offend viewers, but I mean the truth is, I feel the United States is kind of like a ****ty, second-world country, where there's tons of gun problems and violence and it's hard for people to get healthcare and stuff."

I like the cut of this guy's jib!

Except that when compared to a vast majority of the world, he's really wrong. He should just stick to casting video games.

Yeah where did he grow up...Kansas? Then he went to a small college? I'm sure he has really seen all the US has to offer.

I like how you get so butthurt you slander and talk **** about a good guy just cause he said something negative about the US, HURRAHHHHH!! he has 3 classes left, do you think he really needs to finish them to get some sort of closure? I'd vagure his NW is bigger than yours anyway and isnt that what means something in the US? =)

but yeah great real talk, he seems like a great guy. Seems to get his head more on straight than 90% of the SC2 scene, which is a bunch of butthurt dramawhores.

also countdown till karak brings up some old petty **** about me cause he wants to throw **** at each other

nice troll

Him having a potential higher net worth or not having a college degree has nothing to do with why what he's saying about the US is ridiculous.

tbh the way the US is portrayed in social media/media/community sites/news etc etc it seems extremely violent. Obv there is a big group of smart and nice people as well. But some of the decisions the majority makes in the US makes you wonder sometimes. Sarah Palin and the likes.

Sarah Palin served as governor in a rather insignificant state with a very low population for fewer than 3 years. That is literally the only elected position she has ever held* and preceded her rise to fame.

7% of the vote is a larger gap than your SC2 skill level to DRG. Finally, she was a VP, which usually have little effect on tickets and she would have no real power.

Offering her as an example of the "majority" in the US making dumb decisions is lolbad.

Crowd cheering the death penalty and/or letting uninsured people die at Republican primary debates tho

Bombing lots of other countries tho

there's a lot to choose from that makes our country look pretty barbaric to the rest of the world

I'm not debating the rightness or wrongness of what Tasteless said but it's pretty clear that there are valid reasons for someone to hold views like what he said in that vid or what ohead articulated

im also already talking all these things over with ohead and his massive walls of text on skype, so doing it twice would tire me out.

i cant even imagine how much it must infuriate people all over the globe who would give anything to come to the united states to hear someone who grew up in middle class america (truly one of the most privileged upbringings you'll find in the world) call the country a "2nd world country"

2nd and 3rd world countries are not nice places to live.*

there are also a few aspects of south korean healthcare that would be universally (no pun intended) rejected here in the US. they are the sacrifices you need to make for a public healthcare system, and even many of our democratic friends wouldn't be willing to make them.

studying world healthcare systems is a bit of a hobby of mine. my life is sad.

*this was worded poorly. 2nd and 3rd world countries can be, in many parts of them, not nice places to live.
