I think they are just trying to say that everyone gets a ladder icon. I don't know why they are making it seem like these milestones are a one shot deal. Unless maybe these milestones go towards your achievements - feats of strength or something?
I mean, if you start off at rank 100 and move your way up, let's say you make it to #1 then I don't see how you don't end up getting an icon with the star on it...? That would suck if just because you ended season 1 at rank 100, you make it to #1 in season 2 that you only keep the icon without the star.
I don't know. Seems very vague and I have a feeling a lot of people are going to be pissed off if it doesn't live up to expectations due to the intentions of what is going on being extremely vague.
People are already confused based on ladders being locked on Date X for 2 weeks, then on Date Y you get the milestone, then Date Z the patch is released then Date whatever starts Season 2. I don't know. I'm confused.
Right now I'm #34 Gold so looks like I would get the icon with the bars, but no wings. I might have to put in some game time once the ladders get locked. Knowing my luck, I play a lot now, I'd end up getting promoted to Platinum and never be able to move up the ladder.

During maintenance next Tuesday morning, March 22, the ladders will be locked. The lock will mean that no further league promotions or demotions can occur, and bonus pools will stop growing. So now’s the time to push for that promotion! Once locked to a league and division players can continue to play out their bonus pools and compete for standing within their division until the actual end of the season.
During morning maintenance the following Tuesday, March 29, Season 1 will end and Season 2 will begin. So my understand is saying that Patch 1.3 will be released tomorrow and ladders will be locked. After that you can play without worrying about getting promoted/demoted and can solely concentrate on trying to move up your ladder with intentions of reaching a higher milestone.
Looks like I'm not going to be playing at all until tomorrow. We'll see what happens. LOLlikeiplayanywaysaments.
