I used to use a Death Adder, but it broke. Lasted like 3 years though. I got really used to the size I guess. You kind of have to put your whole hand over it. I actually wouldn't recommend it personally now that I've stopped using it. It's too big.

I'd also say whatever mouse you get, definitely get a hard mouse pad. It makes a huge difference. It costs a little more but it's worth it.

And I saw that switchblade thing in the ces pictures, it looks pretty cool, albeit not very useful to me.

do you guys play with the "reduce mouse lag" box checked?

anyone know what exactly it does? Does it actually make the mouse more responsive, or does it just kill the mouse acceleration? I'm running windows 7, so I suppose if thats all it does I could uncheck it and turn up some other settings.

I currently have it checked and I play everything on low and get around 50-60 FPS. Haven't tried playing with it off.

AlphaDog - I don't. I just tried it to see if there was a difference and I didn't notice anything. If it could cause a drop in framerate and there isn't a noticeable difference then I'd say don't use it. It definitely doesn't affect the mouse acceleration. I've tried disabling my mouse acceleration before and all that did was made my current SC2 mouse sensitivity to be unplayable. You'd have to greatly increase the sensitivity. Disabling mouse acceleration is a huge, noticeable difference, not like what this "reduce mouse lag" does (or doesn't do). So I have no idea what that does.

I have my own question:

My experience with each race goes Protoss, Terran, Zerg. If I wanted to play Terran without it affecting my 1v1 ranking, I was thinking about playing 2v2 Random as Terran and maybe 3v3 Random as Zerg. This would assure that I play at the lowest levels in the beginning and hopefully getting into Bronze leagues.

Do you guys see this as a good idea? Or could there be issues with this? For example, I play 2v2 Terran and although I might be terrible, my teammate would carry me, or the other team is just really bad. Or doesn't it really matter and I'll gravitate to where I should be anyways?

Yeah that was suggested to me to even practice new builds with Protoss. However, I like the idea of the games I play actually counting for something. And I like the idea of getting matched up against people of my skill level.

The problem with the actual custom games is that you're often going to get matched up against really good players. No newb is going to play a custom game in fear they are going to get matched up against a Diamond and get slaughtered.

Usually I go into custom games against the AI just to practice, but that isn't as effective because the waves are predictable.

Yeah kinda. Was going to switch to an isp with unlimited bandwidth usage and a higher upload speed so I could start streaming but crtc kinda shat all over that plan.

Been trying to buy this game for 4 days now, Blizzard support sucks.

Can only buy the digital download as I am a Eurodonk but want to play NA reigon (BTW, a 140 - 190 ping won't cause me too many problems right?) but just get an error message every time I try. Even had someone from Blizzrd on the phone trying a bunch of things with me and still couldnt get it to work.

This game better be worth it because I'm getting close to full on nerd rage.

about the reduce mouse lag thing i posted the other day:

i played around with it last night, and i came to the conclusion that it really does make a huge difference, i found the mouse much less responsive with it off. I would highly recommend trying to play with it on, even if means having to lower some other graphics settings.

So I guess if I'm going to hang out in the bnet channel I should at least acknowledge that the forum exists. Had a bunch of fun last night, even if I was playing sloppy as ****. Looking forward to doing it again soon.
