I have a question about the ladder.

Some friends and I qualified on for the Silver league 3v3. We played our first game and lost, but when I went to look where the other team was on the ladder, they weren't even there. Do you only play teams from your own ladder or can you play anything? It looked like the team we played was on the platinum ladder.

From what I hear you have some "mysterious" ranking underneath who you really are. The game matches you up based on these rankings.

For example, beta phase 2 I was in Bronze. I went on a string of like 3-4 wins in a row. I then lost a game and when I checked the player he was a mid-low Gold.

The game matches you up to see if you're good enough to move up. If all you ever do is play Bronze players, the game will never know if you are good enough to move to Silver.

pro-tip for all zerg players, if you see a protoss going with 2 early gates on steppes of war, repeatedly stealing their gas is not an efficient way to spend your time and minerals

God I feel really stupid after the game I just played. I was consistently short on minerals even though I was producing probes non stop. Finally went to my main to figure out what was going on and I had accidentally set the rally point on an assimilator...

So I never really got into SC1 the way some of you did and definitely not the way Ive been getting into SC2 so I dont know all the "personalities" and such. So imagine my fit of hysterical laughter the first time I see Day[9] on the screen. His vids are great but for some reason his actual physical appearance on the screen caught me totally off guard. Of course Im just as big a nerd as him, I just hide it better.
