Mechanical skills plateau at a certain point and tend to matter a lot less for rank IMO. I’ve seen champ-level aerial insanity from gold players who have no idea how to position properly

I have a lot of leaks, my biggest is missed shots rn, I’m only 48% which isnt too too bad but I miss shots I should never miss quite often

I think there should be a stat that measure the total % of the game that you were behind the ball and the % that you were in front of it. If you're in front of the ball you're usually out of position, might be good for people to see how much time they waste in front of the ball.

Got paired with a random unranked player yesterday in doubles who said he liked how I played and wanted to pair up. Turned out he was like a plat level 3v3 player who decided to try doubles, pretty nice ego boost to my silver I ranking. We did pretty well together too

Right there with you. I just hit C2 and don't belong there mechanically. I'm fine with just chilling in C1. Game play is fun, hit some crazy shots every once in awhile, it's pretty relaxed/not toxic.

Ok i know this isnt impressive at all but im proud as hell. Been trying to do this forever. Been stuck on plat 3 for several weeks.

Holy ****. Took a year grinding from bronze I to do this. Probably could have done it faster but i got rank anxiety for several months and only played solo standard, which I grinded to plat. That mode is really good training, because your teammates are always imbeciles.

I had hit plat 2/3 in my first few months of playing I think due to luck. Then just kind of kept that rank for a while, tried to grind and fell way down to bronze/silver/gold for a bit. Quickly climbed back to plat and just stayed there foreeeever. Like the last year.

Octane (the fennec) took me there ironically. MVP’d 5 games wins in a row to go from div 3 to here. I knew the last one had to be the boss fight because the previous game i won i thought id rank up and i had matched against all diamond 2’s. And i mvp’d but i dont think these ****s calculate that into it.

I had a few nutjob dribbling past 3 defender goals but mostly just made a lot of saves and rotated.

Oh and btw i have been playing a lot of 1v1 and it really improves your game a lot, highly recommend

Man, double touches arent really that hard tho are they? When i started doing them, i realized before i just hadnt even really been trying that hard

When you go all out to hit a ball and will be out of play for a few seconds it costs literally nothing to spend a little extra boost and try to follow up or dribble past a defender. And if you whiff sometimes you can actually cause a weird play because you have faked them into being out of position. Sometimes i whiff on purpose as a juke, teammates are always close behind to clean up

Grats on diamond! Must feel good. The milestones in this game are an amazing feeling.

Double touches are not hard indeed, as everything in this game, especially if you put a little bit of time into practice... I've had periods where everything is working out and I was on fire but often something unclicks and it seems like I have 10% success rate suddenly.

The second touch just rarely goes where I want it to. Double touches are prolly the easiest way to get people out of position in diamond and low champ because defenders dont anticipate them.

Oh yea I can’t really aim it well. But yea that second touch always screws with people. I’ve gotten a lot better at defending those, now that they’re becoming really common.

Much, much less latency. On console I have tried but there’s such a delay on inputs it is unplayable for me.
