Big clears really destroy the low ranks. Slowly climbing out of silver in solo standard.

Get a lot of matches where you have people that will **** up your 100% shots like 95% of the time or clear the opponent’s ball like basically every time or basically create 4v2 situation always. But if you dont have one of those, it’s like free wins.

I really don’t get how from game to game, day to day, I can feel so drastically different.

Like I’ll have games where I whiff 4-5 clears in a row and brick easy goals, then the next day I’m sending the ball exactly where I want to, getting to challenges first, converting every pass, etc

I noticed when I had days like that were when I hadn't had a warm up before I dove into a session.

I warm up now by doing some "can't miss these" striker training gimme-goals to make sure I'm not gonna whiff easy shots I should always be making. Sometimes I'll do some pass catching or practice my off the wall hits but lately I don't even usually go for wall shots. My short/mid range aerials are usually on point so I don't practice those that much.

I also like to go into free play for about 10 minutes and practice passing shots off the backboard or the wall and scoring on a 2nd touch. That's really good for me for being able to read the ball and also practicing my aim.

Then I go into some 1v1's if I'm feeling it, to practice my ball control and dribbling against real opponents.

Then, finally, I go into my matches.

If I'm having a long session and notice I'm start to inexplicably miss and whiff all over the place I'll go back into a practice session again.

Idk for me it's made me a lot more consistent.

Solo 3's is great, if you make some kind of ridiculous early play and get a goal a lot of times the other team will just concede.

Universal open finals was great - it's just ridiculous what they can do with their cars

i dont get what the point of levels are.....you dont get **** for them, you dont even get any cool names past rocketeer or anything. Oh wow, now i get to stare at the worthless XP screen for way too long after each match.

It took about half a second in to the unskippable xp screen after my first game before I started raging. I can't believe they haven't hot fixed it out yet.

Yeah, I don't dislike the idea of the Rocket Pass. However, it does seem scummy to just stack it on top of the existing crate system.

Wouldnt mind the money grabbing aspect over the past 18 months so much if psyonixs profit graph wasn't inversely tied to their ****e servers

haha, same. I really wanted the rocket trail, wheels, and goal explosion of the first few tiers tho. So I Figured it was cheaper just to spend the 10 bucks and get all 3, than to buy all three on the open market. I do feel icky about it tho


I ****ing can not win at solo standard. It is pure ****ing hell, i am down to gold 2 div 2 (I am plat 3 in standard, and touching diamond 1 in doubles, and I just random queue both). Every ****ing game is just AIDS teammates who have no clue what they are doing all the while being the most toxic pieces of **** around. I loathe playing it and have no idea why i keep doing it.

I stopped spending money on cosmetics when the games starting getting super toxic about a year ago. When I start getting notifications all the time that people I reported are banned then I'll think about buying stuff again.

I play mostly solo standard because I'm still hanging on to plat in standard and play just enough games to maintain it, lol.

The players are much worse, for sure. It's also much harder to win at lower ranks. I am hovering around high silver often and it's a super frustrating experience. But often, so is standard. I can't tell much difference tbh other than there's much more ball chasing in solo standard i think and people who just AFK out of nowhere on kickoffs.

I think probably the reason is people just don't try that hard in solo.

lol is the rocket pass like the sanhok pass for pubg? $10 or $15 and you get unique rewards to unlock as well as challenges?

seems to be the theme with these very popular but older games to suck up cash from the massive pool of players they still retain, instead of just releasing the pass for free.

Thats how to USE to hook players and get new players back, release updates and good content that was free.

ugh, when i did my calculation that it was cheaper just to get rocket pass to get the cool items on the first dozen levels, I didn't take into account that absolutely everyone would be using them as well, thus making them lame
