Someone got a link to a good video tutorial on aerials? Looking for something better than 'just keep practicing and you'll get the hang of it'.

This game is too much fun with a soundtrack playing in the background. Nothing beats watching the replay of a well done goal.

As far as I know that's pretty much the gist of it. Use the tutorials in the beginning of the game, then practice practice practice. It's hard to learn the physics through simply watching a tutorial

Something that helped me out a lot(I still suck at it but I'm getting better) for aerials is changing the controller config.

Gas - R2
Brake - L2
Hand Brake - L1
Boost - Square
Jump - X
Focus on Ball - Circle

That set up makes it easier for me to hold down the jump button while boosting at the same time.

Anyone figured out the ranking system yet? It feels completely random, and I've even gained points losing. Or I'll win vs. a terrible player and make 50+ points, and the next game barely eek out a win over a good player for a few points. Or vice versa, losing a ton to a good player and not much to a bad. The rest of the time it seems to make sense, where comparable skilled matches cost about 10-20 points either way, and 10 or less in a severe mismatch. The only thing I could think of is if the server lags in tallying scoring vs. when you check it, but that wouldn't explain half of the weirdness.

i think its just the servers have a lot of delay for the mmr changes sometimes.

I'm pretty sure ranking doesn't work. I spent a few hours last night flipping onto my back and spinning in front of the opponents goal and ranked up.

Lbr_lbr btw

People that deliberately steal goals can EAD.

I'll be glad when randoms learn that passing the ball is allowed and actually a good strategy to use to win games. It's not all about being the person that scores.

As you and your opponents get better, there is no such thing as stealing goals imo. After you have seen some ridiculously epic saves, you realize that slamming the ball home is always the right move. Plus, turbo resets after a goal for everyone so there is really no situation to not crush it home if you can.

I have no problem with slamming a goal if there's defenders in the area.

I hate it when it's a breakaway and your shot is clearly going in but your team mate(driving right beside you) has to hit boost and hit the ball just so he can get the points. **** those people.

I had an epic save that was 90% in our goal and I slammed it out and it went straight into their goal. Too bad malus was too drunk to remind me to save the replay like I asked

Here is a 1v1 I just played. Any advice appreciated. I have a feeling I am taking some bad lines at the ball. Ignore the first 15 secs and sorry it is so long.

Advice point one. Don't play 1 v 1

1v1 should only be played with a friend and used as practice.

Stop following the ball into the corner on your opponents side.

Can't offer any advice - but I enjoyed watching this match. GG! Long video is good

Just played some really interesting 1v1 matches against a guy named *_cole (* being something I don't remember), he was terrible at everything but goalie and kickoffs, and he was amazing at both, I kept trying to roll the ball in from the sides across the goal to score on him, but he'd pop it out for a long shot goal every time, or else he'd get me off the line by playing delay mind games. Had me so tilted after the second time I queued into him. If you can figure out your opponents weakness and exploit them like he was with me, you can probably get really high before your lack of all around skill kills you.

I quit a 1v1 yesterday when 3-0 down after 30 seconds against someone who seemed way better. Queued up and got the rematch and won 13-2 lol, momentum is real

~1:56 - I'm guessing from your reaction to that ball that you don't use reverse very often, and that's definitely a spot where you need to back up rather than do a full 180. (actually later on I see you use reverse, maybe it was just this one ball you didn't react well to)

3:20 - I think on the balance, that's a spot where he almost always touches the ball and moves it some way that your premature jump will put you out of position to react.

3:43 - ignore the ball and go get the boost to the left, you'll still probably be in position to make a play when you turn right again - when out of boost, always be thinking about how you can get more, and that was a good opportunity

3:56 - nice

How may people use ball cam?

I personally don't and from what I've seen on YouTube and stuff seems like it's fairly mixed, maybe a 60/40 split in favor of ball cam.

I think it's best to switch between the two depending on situations but I'm not good enough for that yet.

I've gotten really comfortable with having it almost always on, generally turning it off when falling back/grabbing boost
