My friend plays ps4 and I'm on xbone - we're the same rank (gold 3) but he'd be lucky to be silver on xbox

I don't think player pools are segregated, ranks are probably across all platforms?

Ps4 has separate player pool totally, with later join time. I'd be shocked if it wasn't just curved given number of players on the platform - hence why ps4 players are ranked "higher" relative to their skill.

Thought about it for 2 seconds: everyone's rank has to be the same because of crossplay. If you can play vs PC, it has to use the same numbers.

Ps4 doesn't have crossplay. And I'd be absolutely shocked if the computer players didn't compose the top of the crossplay curve.

Has that changed? When I first played RL (near when it came out), it was on PS4, and it had cross play. Are there not still people with avatars that just say "Psy net" or whatever? Because that meant PC players.

How does that work then? Xbone and ps4 definitely don't mix player pools, and every single thing I've read says Sony said no to crossplay (to xbox, steam and switch).

There's definitely no cross play on PS4, and I think there's PC+Xbox pools and Xbox only with separate ranks for each. Pretty sure Xbox only is the default

I've read multiple times that ps4 players can be matched up with PC and xbox players. You just can't explicitly party with them. Important difference.

Based on the number of 13 year olds that can type out trash talk in the middle of a game, I believe it.

It doesn't mention the ranking system, but if you can match in competitive with PC players then I assume the rankings must be the same or close enough that it doesn't unbalance games.

I made an alt account recently so I could solo queue without getting tilted over my rank and I somehow made champ. Felt like I was destined to be a high diamond player forever so I'm pretty stoked! Going to try for it on my main account now lol.

I'm also a couple ranks higher in solo standard than I am on my main account. Not sure why that is honestly.

PC players play both xbox and ps4 players. Ps4 players and xbox dont play each other. Ranks are the same across all.
