It's a bit overkill for what I do, but jesus it feels good to be able to do things on ultra that I could never do on low. And who knows, maybe now that I actually have a PC that can run games, maybe I'll dip my toes into some other games too. Paycheck needs to clear first though before I can start wasting it all on Steam..
I think it was around $1200 after rebates, but that includes mouse, keyboard, and monitor (new naga, new pointlessly expensive mechanical keyboard, monitor was DOA sadly), so just the parts were probably around $1000.
edit: oh and uhh if anyone doesn't have one yet for some reason, SSDs are pretty much the nuts. I love being able to turn my computer off to do something with it and not dread a long boot after that, or not having to worry about switching characters a lot on WoW because they're gonna load in a couple seconds.

I've heard good things about that headset, thought about getting one along with all this other stuff but I don't really have a need for it right now (then again, I don't really have a need for any of the other stuff..)
The keyboard is a Razer Blackwidow Ultimate. I don't know if there any difference between the non-ultimate and the ultimate besides the lights. I'm a sucker for things with lights. Toss a light on whatever you're selling, jack up the price 50%, and I'll still buy it. I like the feel of it so far though. But it is loud, which can either be a good thing or a bad thing. Personally, I kind of like the sound so it doesn't bother me too much. I can see it possibly being problematic during a raid or something though, when you're trying to mash keys and talk at the same time.
Our GM has one and you can hear it clacking in the background every time he queues in Vent. I think he has the Steelseries one, but I'm not sure. He seems to like it a lot though.
Buying stacks of greens gems for ~20g. Sell the perfects, vendor the green cuts. Even if I sell each gem for only 100g each, I'm still making 200-500g profit per stack. A vendored stack of green cut gems is 17g, so even worst case scenario where I get 0 perfects, I only lose 3g.
WTB someone to troubleshoot my internet so I can get rid of these ****ing lag spikes...it's a good thing I'm not raiding right now, because it is literally unplayable at times with how bad these spikes are.
They never do so I'm not exactly holding my breath. Plus I've been searching, and people that have had similar issues have lots of problems getting it resolved, because the guy on the phone will just run a traceroute, see that everything is fine, and tell you that the problem is on your end. The problem is intermittent though, it might be fine for that traceroute and the next one and the next one and the next one, but the one after that might be where something is timing out or whatever and giving you the lag spike. But they won't look at that.
Welp, either my guild will now be a 10 man guild, or I'll be looking for a new guild. We're down to 3 healers. Myself, a shaman who has a lot of comp issues and can't raid again until who knows when, and a monk who misses like half the raids.
Bad thing is, I'm sure the GL has had to have known about this for a while. Especially when your healing officer goes "I'm quitting WoW, my sub expires tomorrow, kthxbye"
Yeah I'm not really sure what I'm gonna do. Posted a thread on the recruitment forum, only got 1 post in it, from a guild that's basically exactly the same as mine as far as times and days go, but they have 2 less bosses down. I'm probably going to have to either just suck it up and get a couple less hours of sleep, or go way down in progression, though if I go that route it would be on my priest or monk, no reason to bring my druid into a significantly less-progressed group.
Part of the problem I have right now is that I'm in a bowling league which is on Tuesdays, so I don't get home from that until about 9:30. So for the majority of guilds out there, that would mean I would have to be late every Tuesday. And for any guilds that 9:30 wouldn't be late, that means the end time would be later than I really want it to be. So I don't really know what I'm gonna do now.
There seem to be a few guilds with end times around 11-12 which would be fine (assuming they actually end at that time, unlike my guild which says they end at 12 but that only actually happened once in the month I raided), but there's still the problem of Tuesdays..so it seems like if I want to stay up in decent progression I'll have to quit the bowling league, which I'm just not sure if I want to do.

Found another mostly guild group to run with tonight. Oneshot everything up to Elegon, then we downed Elegon after the fifth pull. Scored a nice random trash drop trinket in the process. Not bad for taking a random shot in trade at 1 in the morning.
If anyone has Comcast and ever has problems with anything (phone, internet, or TV), go to Twitter before trying to deal with customer service. People on the phone told me there was nothing wrong. Sent a message to one of the reps on Twitter, then sent him account info, and a few minutes later he says there's a signal issue that's being looked into. Whether or not it actually is being looked into, the fact that he acknowledged it's a problem on their end is progress. And it appears to be fixed now, running a 3d traceroute for the past ~10 or so minutes and I haven't seen a spike at the spot it was spiking before.
Id imagine thats because anyone can read twitter and see whats up, so comcast has to look good there. They dont have to give two ****s about phone calls since most people just suck it up and dont spread the word.
