Red Dead Redemption 2 (it's out!) Red Dead Redemption 2 (it's out!)

Has anyone had an issue with rifles disappearing?

It appears to be a bug obviously but I am looking for a way to work around it. It would essentially ruin the game if this cant be reckoned.

I've had a couple of guns disappear when I died and had to rebuy them, the weapon inventory is buggy, but I don't know how it'd ruin the game. None of the unique guns are meaningfully better than their store-bought counterparts and money won't be an issue after Chapter 3

And just to add to that, assuming you mean story mode and not online, in 90% of the reports of missing guns I've read online the answer has turned out to be "on your horse". The game has some weird mechanics.

A good reminder of why maintaining a couple of backup saves is a good idea, though.

Been slowly making my way through the story. Somewhere in mid chapter 4 right now. Finished the “disarm three peeps challenge today.”

Went into Rhodes. Shot some guy in the face. Got the law after me. Was able to disarm three guys in one dead eye using a pistol. Took awhile.

Tie a stick to it's head, kind of like a unicorns horn, and then dangle a carrot from the end of it?

You can lead a horse to a stable, but you cant make him leave

I've been playing this game like 3 hours a week since release so am only about 47% done. Going to finish single player before online.

How is online? What's it like?

Weapons/clothes unlock as you level up or you can buy them with gold bars which they sell in packs for $10-$100.

I got the Legend of the East satchel and HIGHLY recommend getting it if you haven’t already. Allows you to carry basically 99 of everything rather than 5-6. Never have to worry about not having room to hold all your loot and meat.

got this for Christmas and some annoyances so far (loved the first Red Dead):

-being able to run into trees is ****ing stupid and a level of realism I don't want
-horse dying is annoying
-losing my pelts after dying is annoying

I don't remember anything about the first one pissing me off. I am enjoying the game however and the story mode has so much to do I have no interest in online

I am not 100% certain of this but I think the higher end horses dont fall as much. Maybe I jsut got better but I bought the really expensive high end one, the kind you can get for free if you go hunt for it but I just bought mine. He never ate **** ever and I remember scenarios where I was almost certain he would.

If I had to guess it's probably affected by the "handling" stat. I also thought they maybe hotfixed it after release to make it more forgiving but maybe not. After I got this horse I had 0 issues.

If you tap run without touching the d-pad your horse will dodge trees.

The Arabian horses are fast AF but terrible in combat because they throw you way too easily once shooting starts I started using my Appaloosa in situations i knew were going to include horseback fighting.

I've seen this a lot online, and I don't get it.....I finished the story and epilogue (I think I'm 87% overall complete), and my horse literally died once that entire time, and I was able to revive him. So never lost a horse completely (white Arabian the whole time), and only had to revive once. What are ya'll doing for your horse to die all the damn time?

FWIW, mine died when I was exploring below a railroad bridge. Idiot wandered on the tracks while I was below them and got hit by a train. Somehow he only got knocked off the tracks to the rocks below, which I could get to and revive him.

Also, mane mohawks and braided tails for the win.

Yeah, same here for dead horses. I lost mine in the epilogue traveling through a tunnel that I didn't think a train would go through.....

I finished the story and only had one die when I ran him off a cliff and into a river (I didn’t see it). Also, had one die per the storyline. Other than that, no dead horses.
