yeah I can't see myself scavenging the map for every, dinosaur bone, dream catcher or rock carving. I think I'll be done once I get all the challenges and main story finished.

I want the 100% cut scene.

I did the dinosaur bones last for collectibles and it turned out that I had been to maybe 25 of the areas already and even walked over a few doing other stuff. I was kinda pissed when I caught on to that.......

This is prob the dumbest game I’ve ever sunk this many hours in. Every other quest is fetch I don’t feel like after about 100 hours I’m much stronger than my original character. It’s so hard to die but the fishing..the fishing is where I am done . Easily the worst game I’ve ever played that I will wind up finishing. I’m not some video game nerd but I have no idea how anyone prefers this to Skyrim or the Witcher, dragon age or divinity . This game sucks. Fallout was bad but this is way way worse

I bet you could beat the game with your original stats easily

It’s the graphics and genre people are enjoying. You can’t really compare a (somewhat) realistic western themed game to a fantasy game and say one is better than the other. And stats changing? The point of the game isn’t to build your character up to some superhuman cowboy by the time it’s over. No wonder you don’t like it - you don’t get it.

It’s a playable story

It’s not an RPG

Well the graphics are great I’ll give it that. The missions just do nothing for me really. The dialogue and stuff is entertaining I just feel zero sense of accomplishment doing anything at all when the game is telling me exactly what to do every single step of the way

Have you tried murdering everyone?

I agree that the actual story missions are fairly easy to accomplish. But, as mentioned, have you tried murdering everyone?

Turn auto aim/locking off for a significantly harder challenge.

Go first person every mission to make it even harder.

Try to get gold on every mission (usually requires not using items) for a much harder challenge. There's ways to make the combat harder, and there have been a few missions where I had to retry a few times (the ****in riverboat gave me trouble for some weird reason).

Rockstar games have never been about challenging gameplay or combat. I much prefer the combat in this game to the fairly linear and boring combat of GTAV. Kills feel very satisfying.

But like others said it's really about the experience. I've wasted at least 5 hours just drinking and playing poker against the AI in my camp. It's pretty immersive if you allow it to be especially if you get super high and put headphones on.

And stats? Wtf? There are not really stats in this game to speak of.

Also... you can turn off the gameplay prompts. You don't need them, but I turn them on because the game becomes significantly annoying without them, the UI is too clunky to remember what exact button I need to press in every different context (they dont seem to be very intuitive or consistent at all).

Mutigers, I've found a way to keep the game interesting is to just murder everyone.

Have you tried that?

I loved and appreciated the slow pace. It’s the first open world game I could casually no-life. Last one I did was a The Division and you have to go through hell to pull off a lot of **** in there. And I still haven’t touched the Online portion yet.

You can also turn off the minimap thing and only consult your map if you know you're at a certain landmark. In real life you can't just open a map and know where you are. That made RDR1 more immersive for me. I still get lost in Rio Bravo. Good times.

Yeah I mean you guys are right it’s a pretty dumb complaint RE like levellkng up to be a super character. I posted at 5 AM wasted trying to catch one of the legendary fishes and I was pissed. But these GTA RDR games just aren’t for me I don’t think. (He says as he puts in four hours a day trying to get a perfect pelt from some dumb animal). I just don’t enjoy them never got got into GTA at all

I suppose I just feel like they could add a few more difficult challenges like oh in the bottom right corner of the map there is some gun slinger who has as much health and items as you who tries to rob you and steal your horse if you gallop past or something . I don’t know. Or I wish the honor system mattered much more to where your encounters with people are way different

This has become my default with almost all modern games. The first thing I do is disable the minimap and most of the UI. It all depends on what kind of experience you want.

In real life I can open a map near 100% and it tells me where I am

I feel your pain I was trying to reel in a monster fish for like 45 minutes and gave up

I cheesed the hell out of pretty much all of the legendary fish. Get as close as you can, cast and as soon as they bite, hit R2 and you’ll catch it before they start to fight a 2nd time. I stumbled upon that after a long failing fight with a fish and got the rest quick!!

Might either be too late for some or of no interest to others, but if you’re a completionist, don’t leave Guarma until you’ve studied, killed and skinned everything there. Aside from a dumb glitch, you can’t get back.

Gambler 8 challenge is brutally annoying

Win 3 times against the BJ dealer while hitting 3 times

JFC

I’m 100% convinced this isnt a fair deck either.

You can cheese that one by leaving before you lose to maintain streak. But even if you couldnt - i’m not sure ive ever lost a dominoes round. Winning’s pretty easy.

Edit: wow i somehow missed that you cheesed it - that’s hard to believe, were you using good strategy? Lol

Idk why im even doing this to myself. Ive done 0 other challenges, have no intention at 100%, dont even know the reward for gambler 10.

In the first game challenges felt WAY more rewarding.
